A highly advanced galactic or intergalactic extraterrestrial civilization, say from the other side of the galaxy, that was the curious type that happened to enjoy studying closely planets which contained life would perhaps have such an advanced knowledge of life, the evolution of life (from encountering so many planets along their way until they finally reached Earth), that the human species might be like ants are to us. We may seem primitive or a typical or uninteresting kind of species compared to others they had already encountered on their scientific journey of the study of inhabited planets. But there is always the possibility that a highly inquisitive species might actually want to study the life of Earth, in particular the human species, since we are the only species on Earth that has developed technological advancement and interplanetary missionaries like Voyager 1 and 2, which gave us our first images of the outer planets of the solar system, or the New Horizons Spacecraft that gave us our first up-close images of Pluto and Charon (it’s moon) the furthest former planet. We are the only species that has developed radio communications technologies to communicate signals to other star systems. We could be interesting to them. An intergalactic civilization in particular, though, would more than likely have such an advanced knowledge of how life evolves in the universe and what the elements that compose all life can be combined and recombined to do, to create all the different kinds of species of life, through highly-advanced genetics (certainly compared to a simply galactic civilization) that it would probably make us less interesting to them.
