TAT: I just love it when the whumpee is all cold and wet and shivering and somebody secures a blanket around their shoulders and they just look all small and vulnerable.

YAS!!!!!
The whumpee used to be kept in a freezing cold cell or laboratory facility without a stitch of clothing or blankets to ward off the chills. Now that they've been rescued they like to keep 5-6 blankets arranged like a nest around themselves, within arm's reach just in case. The caretaking character knows this and brings them extra blankets, and maybe helps tuck them in all snug and safe.
I’m weak for when a whumpee craves what they were denied after being rescued. This is awesome.
The whumpee starts to pass out and subconsciously waits to feel the feeling of hitting the floor but finds themselves cradled against cloth, hearing familiar but distant sounding voices. As they finally pass onto unconsciousness the whumpee is wondering when the floor got so soft and warm.
Whump and fluff, whump and fluff. Oh how I love my whump and fluff!!
Tat: Friends/family finally finding the whumpee after digging through snow for so long. Passed out, pale, with a weak pulse and hardly breathing, almost died from freezing. And they all have to cuddle the whumpee together until they get out of that freezing place. Whumpee waking up next to a heater/fireplace covered up in blankets, and it's too surreal because they had given up before passing out. Then group cuddling again because I like fluff after near death angst?
Me too, Nonny. I see a sequel here with a very sick whumpee getting taken care of by his mates.
TAT: When the whumpee is suffering from heat stroke and they're shivering, delirious convinced they're freezing, trying to cover themselves, making the heat stroke worse. Their caretakers have to wrestle them out of their clothes and blankets, flinching as the whumpee screams when they force them into a cool bath to help bring their temperature down. The whumpee's teeth are chattering and they're begging, eyes glazed and unseeing.
For tat: Someone's stuck in a freezing place and is getting weaker by minute due to their injuries (maybe add some blood loss or a head injury). And over the comms their friends try their best to keep them awake and make them talk until help arrives, but it's too hard for them. And then their words are too weak and slurred and don't make sense anymore. And at some point they just stop responding to them.
My heart! 😍
This is the kind of whump I live for.
Ok I know hypothermia has been done to death today, but in my current wip, character A is homeless and character B is about to get evicted for violating his lease by letting A stay with him. A decides to go so B won't get in trouble, and sleeps in her car several miles away. She wakes up snowed in, car doors frozen shut, and too cold, sluggish and sleepy to free herself or call for help. B wakes up in the morning and sees the snow, and knows his friend is out there somewhere, in big trouble.
I might be getting a lot of hypothermia related TATs today, but this is still amazing and very much appreciated! Your WIP sounds fantastic!
TAT: very fitting, today it’s -50 C (-58 F) where I live with windchill. (This is also my first tat) When the whumpee doesn’t have anywhere warm to go, so they’re stuck out on the streets, trying to keep warm.
And what a fantastic first submission it is! I would love to see the moment someone who knows the whumpee finds them on the street, takes them in, and tries to warm them up. 😍
