Extreme Minimalism
DECEMBER 2022 I SOLD EVERYTHING
I sold all my possessions and gave the money away to a homeless man. I whittled my possessions down to a backpack. Then, rid the backpack. Everything I own: MY 4 THINGS
+ Tech: Phone with cracked screen and charging cable, Chromebook with charging cable. + Important Docs: Wallet with cash, id, debit card, passport. + Toiletries: Toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, nail clippers, pocket knife. + Clothes: Only the clothes on my back.
LEAN CLOTHING How to live with only one set of clothes.
I live with only the clothes on my back. I Wash clothes and body often.
2 layers: shirt + sweatshirt 2 layers: pants + gym shorts 1 pair: darn tough socks 1 pair: shoes
DIGITAL Minimalism
I allow myself to watch one video per day. I look forward to it.
I block sites visited too often and only visit them once monthly.
What is your ratio of consume to create?
WEAR IT OUT I'm happy to use my 7-year-old Chromebook for the rest of my life.
My $100 Chromebook provides me simplicity and speed. It's so cheap, I don't care if it breaks or gets stolen.
I have a cracked smart phone. It doesn't bother me if I drop it.
I'm content with wearing the same old pair of sneakers forever.
ZERO-BAG TRAVEL How to travel with nothing.
The essentials of modern day life: water, food, shelter, the clothes on your back, and a fully charged iPhone.
Bring only the necessary: Important documents, phone and toothbrush
If dirty, take a shower wherever you're staying. If smelly clothes, wash them in a sink or a washing machine before going to sleep. When washing clothes wear bed sheets, towels or a borrowed T-shirt.
This is the way.
