I really do think in post-canon, that Zerxus still believes he’s a martyr and that he HAS to endure being Asmodeus’s right hand man till the end of time, I want him to NEVER learn his lesson and refuse to confront any residual guilt, regret, or self loathing he has. I want that knight to be so full of thoughts like duty and delusions of grandeur and truly believe that there’s a grand destiny / plan for all of his suffering 🥰

You get itttt. You get it. I think there was in fact an exuc sequel that came out recently, and Zerxus showed up for a little bit. I haven't watched it but afaik he's still THERE and evandrin & his son just up and vanished on him. Absolutely hilarious. Zerxus/Asmodeus another one of those pairings where I don't think there's any actual resolution possible, you can't fix a betrayer god and I don't want Zerxus to leave... I want them to death spiral into oblivion together. talon-locked hawks falling to earth and breaking their necks upon impact.
