Andrew keeps his amusement to himself as he picks up a rock and hauls himself up into the tree he'd hidden behind. It isn't too difficult to leap to the next one, then the next. Then he sits on his heels and throws the rock. It hurls past Kevin and cracks against the trunk of an elm tree. Kevin jolts like he's been shot. "An-Andrew?" He pants out, green eyes darting back and forth. He can't see Andrew though, he doesn't have a clue where he is. He's scared. It's addicting. "Andrew, was that you? Andrew?" "I can see you, Kevin. Can't you see me?" Andrew whispers, pushing his words into Kevin's mind. He knows when Kevin catches them because he takes off again and starts running. Andrew leaps out of the tree and follows after him, not running at top speed. Not running at all really. That would ruin the fantasy. He wants to drag this on and on until Kevin's legs give out. Until he can't get away. Until he's begging and helpless—

I love reader interaction! I’m terrible at responding to comments on my actual fics, but receiving them always makes my day. I’m always down to getting questions about my fics (in a respectful matter, of course) if people are ever interested.

Arty: When it came time to propose to Alex, he used matching antique posy rings with the inscription OMNIA VINCIT AMOR, in gold of course.

Alex: He secretly learned piano to surprise Artemis. Eventually, they started playing together, with Artemis on violin or the piano as well.

I really enjoyed writing Alex and Opal’s exchanges in you need a villain. Opal is such a fun character to write, and poor Alex has too much experience with megalomaniacs to take her seriously as a threat (until it’s too late).

Pretty much all of the cast of Artemis Fowl I headcanon as queer in some fashion. Honestly, pretty much any cast of media I like (Princess Tutu, Star Wars, and Gravity Falls, to name a few) turn gay in my hands lmao.

35. If you’re not straight, who was your first same-gender crush?

Oh man, definitely Princess Kraehe from Princess Tutu.

hello! for the question thing: 20. “tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble about” :)

I’m a sucker for sun/moon imagery for couples and Alexmis works for it so well I can’t help but sneak it in wherever I can! I also love drawing on broader mythological and folklore themes and stories, so whether it’s a resemblance to the Orpheus and Eurydice myth or a direct reference to Acteon, I just love slipping in little allusions in my work. I’ve also been learning a ton of fairy folklore for my capstone project, so there will definitely be more references to some of that material in the future. Also, I did sneak a reference to the Tommy Wiseau masterpiece The Room into a chapter of DMP, so that’s probably my favorite intentional reference that I’ve done!

Also, it was a lot of fun to come up with a Colfer and Horowitz style punny villain name! Raught is meant to be essentially what Artemis would have been if he was older, had access to a criminal empire, and developed much weaker morals along the way. I tried to draw parallels between the two when I could, even if it was just in a structural form. Regardless, I’ve found that villains are really fun to write and I’m happy with the way Raught ended up turning out.
