Eye Define
If the eyes are the windows to the soul, why not define those pretty peepers? As a kohl liner lover, I’m used to doing so with a dose of dark colour. But since nude is the look du jour, a lighter approach is just the ticket – and just as smoldering. Snag the look with this easy breezy how-to:
1. Apply cream shadow in a warm light brown shade over the lid and along the crease, blending upward toward the brow bone. For a wide-eyed effect, opt for a light shade of taupe. We recommend:Smashbox Limitless 15 Hr Cream Shadow in Topaz, $20 available at Sephora orMake Up For Ever Aqua Cream in 15 Taupe, $23 available at Sephora.
2. Instead of dark eyeliner, use a taupe shade to add more shape to the eyes. For an evening look, go for metallic gold or bronze. We recommend: Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12 Hr Wear Waterproof in 15 Flirting Game, $9 available at Sephora or Make Up For Ever Kohl Pencil in Metal Gold 7K, $17 available at Sephora.
3. Mascara adds mega definition – coat lashes with black mascara on upper lashes. A volumizing formula creates drama and opens up the eyes. We recommend: Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara, $23 available at Sephora.
4. Bold brows have been all the rage this spring and continue its reign this fall. A full shape draws attention to the eyes – sweep powder onto brows using an angled brush. Brunettes should go for neutral or cool browns (we recommend: Clinique Brow Shaper in Soft Brown, $16 available at Sephora or The Bay); blondes look best with ashy tones of beige or light brown (we recommend: Benefit Cosmetics Brow Zings in Light, $30 available at Sephora); redheads should choose a warm chestnut tone (we recommend LORAC Take A Brow in Auburn, $22 available at Sephora); black haired beauties look best with charcoal hues (we recommend: Illamasqua Eye Brow Cake in Vehement, $23 available at Sephora).
