“Sit down, tell me what happened.”
Milton sighed and sat down reluctantly. He really didn’t want to talk about what had happened in the lab with Mr. Coleman and Andrea, but he knew he had to. After all, he owed it to the Governor for having given him the chance to do the experiment in the first place.
“Well… Andrea and I waited for Mr. Coleman to turn as planned. When he did, I asked him the questions we had prepared and he did move his right hand like I had asked him to do. Since that was a clear sign he was answering, I… ahem, wanted to untie him so he could properly communicate with me…” Milton knew the Governor might get angry at him for doing something reckless like that, but lying would be useless anyway. Philip always saw right through him and even if he wouldn’t, he would still get to know the truth from Andrea.
Clearing his throat uncomfortably, he went on. “He attacked me though, but Andrea was fast enough to kill him before he could bite me. That’s… pratically everything that happened.”, he finished the facts and continued with his conclusion. “I do think the experiment partially worked though. Right after Mr. Coleman turned, he did only move his right hand and not his left. If there wouldn’t have been anything left but his biter conscience, he would have moved his left hand right away as well. I think Mr. Coleman was still inside there somewhere, trying to fight his new instincts.”
