hi there! i was curious about the hostility towards Ravenwolf? ive never heard of them before so i just wanted to get an idea of that situations while i avoid purchasing any books from them (you can answer this privately or publicly, doesn't matter much to me either way)

Since it’s a matter of public knowledge, and since I’m regularly asked this question, I’ve decided to post it.

The problem with Silver Ravenwolf is largely that she is wildly out of touch. Her books tout loads of misinformation, appropriation, and historical revisionism that are simply not acceptable. Besides which, the theories she posits contradict each other from page to page and chapter to chapter, claims a Gardnerian lineage which can’t possibly exist, and trumpets Buckland’s personal theories on the Burning Times and the Threefold Law as if they were fact.

And thanks to her runaway popularity, those of us who instruct and answer questions from newer witches have to UNTEACH all of this nonsense.

If it were simply a matter of being a product of her time, I could forgive some of the nonsense. But she’s still selling mammy dolls on her website, though she labels them as “primitive” and equates them to “positive voodoo dolls.” I don’t think I need to explain how gross and racist this is.

hello! i was wondering if you had some links or resources to find a nice list of the team members behind the production of ML (specifically the writing team). im curious to know how many women are on the team. if you don't, that's totally fine!

Excellent question!

An easy first place to start would be the crew tag on the Miraculous wiki. You would have to parse through people and it’s not exhaustive but it helps.

Another page has the actual credits from the episodes, though this doesn’t have a separate “writer” category, probably because it changes for each episode and the ones who worked on the specific episode are always listed at the beginning anyway.

Which brings us to the last method: checking each individual episode, for example checking the “Credits” box on their respective pages on the wiki. 

As for your research... based even on a quick look at the crew page, there aren’t many female writers. Thinking to the quick credits flash before the episodes, only about four names are present each time, and Thomas and Winny are so many of them that the chance of a woman is super slim. In fact, it looks like there’s only one, and of the 78 episodes she’s only credited for 12 of them. 

That said, there are definitely women in a lot of the other studios; in Method, for example, a solid chunk of the storyboard artists are women (I believe over half). But it is definitely a... disappointing place to be lacking.

while looking at the links you provided, i found a woman named Christelle Abgrall who was a storyboard artist/co-director, but left the show in Jan 2017. other than her and Mélanie Duval, there sadly aren't that many women on the team regarding actual pre-production of the writing, so that's disappointing :( but thank you again for the links and resources!
