“I know that was scary,” The Man says, stroking his hair, “but you lasted longer than we expected.”

His fingers catch on filthy, tangled mats, tugging and ripping, but Ezra doesn’t have the energy left to wince. After a long night of shredding his feet on the forest floor, being hunted like an animal, and taking a sharpened arrow through the shoulder, this can hardly be considered pain.

I am such a sucker for any instance in which Ezra finds difficulty in mundane things bc of his loss-of-limb. The angst? The anger? The growing self-hatred bc he can't do the things he used to?? Ezra is v collected throughout the movie and I love seeing him lose his shit bc he idk can't move a heavy box or something

oooh i like this!!! that’s one thing they didn’t really touch too much on that i think would come later anyways - the grief from loss of limb. everything happened so fast afterwards there wasn’t time for it. but i think once ezra’s safe and like...alone he might really feel the loss from it!!

and then in the case of fic, if he can’t lift something, his lady helps him. she wraps her arms around him and gives him a kiss on the cheek. she’ll remind him it’s ok and that they’ll learn together :’)
