1:72 Hasegawa F-104G 26+65 Marineflieger 1 complete! This was a fun and relatively quick build. The aftermarket Kormorans didn’t actually fit- not sure if the mounting point needed to be further out or what, so I reverted to the drop tanks. Very happy with the matte coat, Model Master 4636 Flat Clear Acryl, airbrushed on without thinning. Lots of thick stock decals that had to be layered over each other were a pain, and there’s a little silvering. I think my gloss coat before applying decals wasn’t very gloss, something to work on next time. As usual, not perfect, but I definitely enjoyed putting it together!

Some radome white and dielectric off white, after a ton of masking. Probably easier to shoot and mask these before main colors. Not sure how I feel about the main blue gray, suspect it should be more gray, and the belly should be more silver. Maybe some airbrushed color modulation over it? Or oil paint weathering?
Canopy masked! Lots of tiny strips of Tamiya tape. Gunsight and ejection seat glued in, about to close up the canopy and start paint.
