#everyone in this show was insane the way they all brought that dark edge to their characters in just the right way and just the right amt #the creative team really are masters of the thriller #their understanding of the usual twists and archetypes and cliches and how they use that knowledge to create such a dreamy hazy vibe. whew #like flower of evil deserved that director baeksang for the way it broke narrative completely #but theres no denying beyond evil was stiff competition #f: beyond evil #nam yoonsu #nam yoon su #wait didn't be win best screenplay......deserved

with beyond evil it's like................whether they wanna fuck or not is quite literally the least important thing abt their dynamic and relationship and focusing on that is quite frankly an extremely boring reading of the show

#i have sooooooooooo many thoughts but I can't sort them out #bc responsibility is such a central theme.........idk just focusing on shipping while watching a show that tackles police corruption #so honestly and shows how the system corrupts absolutely and corruption happens bc of good intentions too #and just this idea of who's gonna take responsibility? what is justice? morality vs justice and the cruelty and violence btwn #juwon and dongshik and the just. their dynamic is SO complicated and i think the whole point is that it doesn't fit neatly under one word #GOD #i need moots to talk abt this show w so bad i have so many thoughts #f: beyond evil

i think that's what gets me abt beyond evil like even if the characters r only like 10 yrs apart or smth shin hakyun is still visibly 24 yrs older than yeo jingoo like he is literally old enough to be his dad. he's literally been an actor as long as jingoo's been alive. when yeo jingoo played the younger version of his character in 2006, jingoo was 9 and he was 32. like i'm sorry i just can't look at it romantically.
