[Lizzie sat in the large glider that her grandparents had bought for the nursery. She gently rubbed her large belly bump while watching her husband finish assembling the baby's crib. She giggled at the sight of her and Puck's golden retriever, Cas, being a good helper and holding a hammer in his mouth. Her phone vibrated as it rested on top of her baby bump.]
Lizzie: Aw, I'm sorry, little guy. [She said as she affectionately rubbed the spot her phone vibrated from. Smiling brightly at the caller ID, she slid her finger across the screen, put the phone on speaker, and answered.] Hi, Meme! You're on speaker.
Meme: Hi, yourself, Lamb! And Studly! And Cas! And little great grandbaby!
Lizzie: [Lizzie giggles as all three of her men answered in their own way - Cas barks nearly dropping the hammer on Puck's foot, Puck absentmindedly waved and sent a 'hey' her way and jumping just in time to dodge the hammer's fall, and even the baby kicking lightly inside of his mommy's belly.] Do you know what time it is? What are you up to silly lady?
Meme: Time for my great grandbaby to meet his favorite Meme?
Lizzie: No! You goofball! He's not ready, yet.
Meme: What was I thinking? He better not be. Not 'til I get there. Which, just to remind you that we will be in town tomorrow around noon. Well, me. Everyone else will be floating in later this week and next.
Lizzie: I remember. How long are you staying?
Meme: You know... [She coughs and mumbles under her breath.] forever. [She clears her throat.]
Lizzie: [Brows crinkle and crease in confusion.] What?
Meme: You know, as long as you need me. A month, two, three... twelve to a million. [Shrugs] Whenever.
Lizzie: [Giggles] Meme! Are you moving in? Where will you sleep?
Meme: I can bunk on the couch. Or we can get a little daybed in the nursery! [She gasps as an idea struck her.] Oh, that sounds lovely! The room is big enough and with the right feng shui, I can definitely make that work! And then the bed can be the baby's when he's old enough. Your mom and Nana would absolutely /love/ a project! Oh, and Chop too!
Lizzie: Whoa now, Meme. The nursery is almost complete as it is. And you would have just a little less than a week to get this done. I don't think that's a good idea.
Meme: We can get it done in two or three. It'll be fine. [She waves a dismissive hand as if they could see.] You won't have to worry about a thing and we'll finish the rest before the little guy gets here. Baby proofing, laundry, setting up - everything! You're forgetting that I have been around for quite some time.
Lizzie: [She sighs.] Meme...
Meme: Lamb... [She mocks.]
Lizzie: It all sounds nice and all, but, I just don't think that we need all of that.
Meme: Well, we'll talk more about it when I get there.
Lizzie: [She chuckles.] Okay then.
Meme: Oh! [She squeals.] I can't wait to see my sweet babies again! Don't you worry. Meme will be there to help in any way possible. Everything is going to be perfect!
Lizzie: I know, Meme. No worries here. [She said, sort of lying. She's always had some sort of stress simmering inside of her.]
Meme: Lies, but I'll forgive you for now. Okay, I know it's late over there. So I will let you kids go. Get lots of rest and tell my Stud Muffin that I land at noon and will be bringing my famous peanut butter cookies for him.
Lizzie: [Puck and Cas walk over to Lizzie. Puck sits beside of her and moves her into his lap. Cas walks around nudges her belly with his nose, causing the baby to stir. The dog whines a bit.] He heard, Meme. So did Cas and the baby.
Meme: Oh and my little Cassie boy! I have some extra special treats for him too! Mercy and that stick thin Sebastian as well. And I didn't forget, lots of present for mommy and baby.
Lizzie: [Laughs lightly] Aw, thanks Meme.
Meme: No problem, Lamb. Okay, go to bed! Get lots of rest! Meme is coming to town!
Lizzie: [Slightly sarcastic] Oh boy!
Meme: Hey, you better get excited little lady.
Lizzie: I am! Go to sleep, silly woman!
Meme: [Sticks out her tongue, even though they can't see her do so.] Fine! Goodnight babies. I love you all!
Lizzie: We love you, too. Bye.
