about puppeteer 2, I think the statue scene shows that Adrien goes to humour to try to cheer his friend up (like when he's Chat) but is not that good at showing that part of himself as Adrien. Though the Plagg Adrien scenes were very cute. He wanted to cheer Marinette up like Plagg does with him. I really like how much more affectionate that relationship is shown to be since Sandman where Plagg left without saying anything.
The episode really isn't as bad as everyone says. Truthfully if you cut out the two scenes that everyone is salty about, it might actually get a somewhat positive view.
BUT, those two scenes really f*** things up.
Adrien’s prank wasn't malicious and it makes sense for his character, BUT he let that go on way too long, he needed to either reveal himself earlier, or just suck it up and not do so.
I did enjoy the plagg and Adrien bits. Adrien actually enjoying playing the piano with plagg was cute.
I know everyone is salty about Adrien because of this. I am gonna be frank
Its the writing, the writing for this scene was awful. The writers had a PERFECT set up, and they f***ed it up. It could have been so easy to save this, to fix this, to have some Actual development. But no.
No, because their crutch to keep the status quo means that whatever happens can't have Marinette permanently give up on Adrien, just like Chat noir can not give up on Ladybug. Because the love square needs to stay intact.Â
The difference is that Marinette can't be rejected, because if she is, she will reasonably move on, chat noir is different. Chat noir believes so long as this other guy she likes isn't with her, he has a chance. Its a stubborn trait, but if Adrien did give up, he would go with Kagami, because thats what frozer showed us.
I dont hate marinette or Adrien. they are interesting and good characters. And despite the shows best efforts, I actually do want them to get together. But f*** do I hate this status quo bulls***. This episodic bs where nothing of note is ever actually established. It just, this episode really showed it.
