Apothecary bottle that once contained rosemary oil made by Arthur A. Stillwell & Co., New York. It was used locally by the Erdman Pharmacy.
In 1910, the Arthur A. Stillwell company was cited by the Food and Drug Administration for selling adulterated rosemary oil. They were given a suspended sentence upon a guilty plea. In 1911, they were found guilty of adulterating and misbranding lavender oil and fined $15. In 1914, the company was again cited for selling adulterated pennyroyal (it contained petroleum and turpentine) and fined $15. They existed until at least 1920 when a memorial to one of their secretaries who’d died during WWI was published, but they then fade from history.
But many panel members said J. & J. recipients might also benefit from the option of a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna booster, an action that an F.D.A. official said was possible.
Regulators said that people over 65 or at high risk of severe Covid-19 were eligible for an extra shot, setting up a staggered national booster campaign.
