"Iol and Carnelia” lyrics and story translation
Here’s something a little special!
In 2014, Vocaloid producer F.Koshiba (WandererP/わんだらP) posted a three-part series of songs featuring MEIKO and KAITO, with the subtitle “Carved into the sides of a polished angular rock, a story of light and distortion.” In addition to music, the producer also happens to do prose writing, and so the songs were accompanied by a short story detailing the circumstances behind the songs and the story behind it.
With the producer’s permission, I’ve translated the song lyrics and corresponding short story to English. As a story of music, emotions, love, rebirth, and the cycle of life, it is probably my favorite out of all the things I’ve translated so far.
1. An Old Tale Inscribed in Blue ~Of Carnelia~
2. An Old Tale Inscribed in Red ~Of Iol~
Eternity. Iol and Carnelia
