The shuffling beside (y/n) snapped her attention away from the book she was reading for the past half hour or so , looking down as a low groan came from Max when he turned around, moving to settle his head on her stomach with his face buried in her (Charles's) oversized shirt With one arm around her as she cradled her fingers through his hair in a soothing motion .
He was still tired from pulling an all-nighter the night before , receiving an emergency meeting call due to some mixed up in emails causing his day to bile up with calls and online meeting until the early hours of the day locked away in his office . Leaving you and Charles to take care of him , bringing him meals and water every now and then even little Alec and baby Mila would pop in to give him a hug sharing candy to lift up his mood or to just say hi , her and Charles stayed up checking on him through the night even though he'd scold them both not to on his behalf but he still grateful for their care .
And instead of cancelling the next day he insisted on going , for it's rare for them and their families to find time to gather without someone having to cancel due to mixed schedule , so they took the chance to spend the day out at sea as her father invited them all to his yacht for the day , having more space for the kids to roam around and their parents to spend relaxing time with family away from the bustling city .
They were to first to arrive followed by Sophie and Victoria along with her boys both exited to spend time with their cousins , then the leclercs and her brother came last , late as usual, getting teased by everyone as he made up excuses . And it didn't take long for them to set sails leaving the harbour behind .
Everyone got comfortable chatting and catching up on what's life been since the last gathering , the kids ever the energy balls they are now doubled with them reunited it was a havoc in the making but they stayed well behaved playing and chatting their uncles ears off about something they thought .
Baby Mila stayed with her grandad babbling on with him about God knows what both content as he went around with her clinging to him , refusing to let go even when Charles tried to take her leaving him with a permanent pout until Luka came running up to him to tell him about something , getting his full attention within seconds .
That left her with Pascale , Sophie and Victoria to stay in the shade , carrying on catching up from where they left the conversation with them when the meals were served . Starting with upcoming birthdays parties and planning on going to camping trips before the end of summer break , up to discreetly trying to set the youngest (her brother and Arthur) up on dates , but that would take more planning and scheming .
Around midday max found his way to her , greeting her with a kiss and a tired smile as he crawled up on the couch beside her , he must ran out of energy as it shows in his dropping eyes and slow steps . humming with half closed eyes as he saw the closed book that lays on the side , she took note waiting for him to settle before she grabbed it and started reading to him in a soothing tone running her fingers through his hair massaging his scalp lightly , not two minutes later she felt his breathing slowed and his body relaxed as he drifts to sleep with his arm draped around her waist , Charles came by a couple of times having seen Max walking up the second floor to her tiredly , he worried about him but he felt relieved as he found him cuddled up to her fast asleep so he left them with kisses on both their heads before going back down .
And now as he woke up still drowsy from his deep slumber but more rested than before , looking up at her apologetically " sorry lifeenje I kept you here all day " she shook her head "no , don't worry love . We still got the whole weekend ahead , and I'm glad you took some rest " giving him a kiss on the head , going back to read with Max now having his head on her shoulder following the lines with his eyes she read them aloud , but stopped as both looked up as Charles approached them leaning over to greet them with kisses before sitting beside them , reaching to take Max's hand in his giving it a squeeze after placing a kiss on the back of it , " how do you feel Mon Amour?" Max smiled up at him interlocking their fingers before answering " I'm alright now lieveling , how is it down there ? " Charles only groaned " I'm about to throw Arthur off deck , (B/N) too if they kept teasing me , and Enzo is ditching me for the kids , I'm not going down there anytime soon !" Both laughed at his dramatic act as he laid on top of them groaning dramatically " even my Mila won't comfort me ! What a cruel world!" Glaring at them playfully he added " don't laugh at my misery !" .
Y/n gave him comforting pats on his back " you know they love to target you the most , it's their way to show their love for you" Charles gave her a disbelieving look " they bully me!" She shrugged at him " it's the same thing" causing him to groan again as Max agreed to her statement before moving to squeeze himself between them , they both gave sounds of protest as he shifted and turned moving them to the sides as he settled himself face down , his head on her shoulder now and his arm going around Max who moved back to give them more space to lay comfortably as they could be with them tangled with each other , but nevertheless enjoying the silence and the lull of the waves .
It didn't take long for Alec to make his way to his parents , both tired and crashing down from the sugar rush he had after his youngest uncles snuck him and his cousins, leaving them cranky and tired , so now he's done for the day making his way straight to his mother's side , climbing and settling between her and Charles and reaching over demanding Max to hold his hand , who did after he leaned over to plant a kiss on his head , drifting as his parents watched over him fondly .
They talked quietly among themselves, minding their sleeping boy as they spoke in a hushed tone getting lost in their conversation , but they turned their heads as a distraught (B/N) with Arthur beside him held out a pouting Mila with her fists balled and up as if ready to fight , her nose scrunched up and her frown is permanent as she whines at her parents , Max chuckled at their state after one look at them , their hair looked like birds nests , and they looked like they've been through a fight and they both lost . He reached carefully to take her from their outstretched arms before asking in amusement as she immediately clutched onto him " what have you done to get her this upset?" , They both scoffed at her as she turned to glare up at them " we did nothing! your spawn got offended! , she saw us teasing Charles and went for blood!" , Causing the little girl to glare even more as she took what looked to them as a threatening sniff before looking up at her dad innocently pointing at her uncles with a whine her mother looked mildly amused as her and Charles cooed over her " my baby would never! , Right Mila ? " Charles agreed as he took her next prepping kisses around her face causing her to let out joyous giggles"that's right, my Mila is too sweet to do such thing! Look at her , is this the face of someone who can do such thing!?" He held her up to their faces as he stood up , careful not to wake the sleeping boy , and both of them stepped back as she reach out her small hand to them .
Pascale sat back along with Sophie , both watching in amusement as their little granddaughter reached out her grabby hands giggling as Charles held her up chasing after the Arthur and (B/N) , voicing in a joking manner " I believe that (B/N) and Arthur thought they were invincible and nothing could touch them , but God sent Mila to humble them both " , Charles laughed the loudest as he sat down helping her to balance her feet while holding her arms "is that right Milly ?, You were defending dada ! That's my baby ! Teach them not to mess with me " she gave him a wide toothless smile as she kicked her feet as if agreeing with him both now grinning as they made their way down to follow their new quest of scaring her uncles and claiming revenge for Charles .
Max watched them disappearing down the stairs giving Y/N a thoughtful look " imagine if she could walk ", she countered back equally amused " imagine if she have teeth !" Max made an ooooh sound before they both started chuckling but stopped as the boy who now slept in hi mother's arms shifted slightly but kept sleeping , giving eachother a knowing smile as they settled back hearing Arthur's and her (B/N) shout's followed by the girl's giggles " get her away from me ! , Charles I'm telling Maman on you!" , Charles taunted them both " tell her what , little Mila just wants to show you her love , isn't that right Milly? " Followed with loud squeal from the said girl as in confirmation .
Max turned his head with thoughtful look as he asked " should we held them ? " She shrugged then shook her head " they deserve it " .

Daniel groaned as he was tackled to the floor the moment he stepped foot in , all he heard was a shout of " uncle Dan" and the next thing he was rugby tackled , Marc greeted him with a wide toothy grin followed with an exited "hi!" , he chuckled and hugged him back " Marcelo!" Causing the boy to whine and throw his head back in frustration as Daniel lifted him when he stood " that's not my name !! " , Earning a laugh from Danny who ignored his whining throwing him over his shoulder emitting a loud scream followed by a laugh .
He shut the front door while asking " so Marcel! How's life ? " grabbed his bag and leaving it by the closed door , but as soon as he finished asking he earned himself a quite painful pinch in the back , yelping in pain as he made his way inside the house " you're as mean as your aunt!! " .
The said aunt voice ranged from the kitchen as she asked in a warning tone " what did you say RICKY?" , he called back before he stood at the door , " nothing but the truth!" Watching her Round the kitchen Island with little Gigi on her hip , who called out as soon as she saw him "Anny!" . (*She tried to call him Dan like Marc but couldn't say the D yet and it stuck with her as she went from calling him Dan to Danny making it worse, but Y/N found it too funny to correct her*) .
Now it was his turn to groan as Marc giggled from his back , but he greeted her back with as much enthusiasm " Gigi!" Making her giggle as she extended her arms out for him .
Stepping in he puts Marc carefully on the island with a teasing tone " special potato delivery! " Dodging before he got pinched again, taking Gigi in a hug , getting one back with a little pat on his cheek" hello miss Gigi " holding her in one arm greeting his friend with a quite "hey Bella" . She gave him a smile greeting back with open arms as he extended his free arm to bring her into a side hug leaving a kiss on the side of her head then he asked " how are you holding up?" She shrugged " getting better , It just takes time to get used to it " he hummed nudging her shoulder with his " knowing you , you'll be up and working in no time " she rolled her eyes at his words " you make it sounds like I'm an avid workaholic " scooping Marc off the island as he wanted to get down and watched as he ran out the kitchen , calling out for O'Connell to play with . he gave her a look " you are " .
She shook her head " well now I've got all the time in the world , isn't that right Gigi " he watched her closely as she turned away avoiding his eyes , so he teased her saying " then don't get too bored without me around, it's only a couple of months and we'll both be jobless together, we'll retire and go off hiking and making wine in Italy like we always planned " he balanced Gigi on her feet , holding her hands and smiling wide as she gripped his fingers in her hands babbling as she took wobbly steps, scrunching her nose as she blobbed down kicking her legs and giving a small shout at him , he apologized to her scooping her up as he reached the fridge, taking out two small juice boxes , he offered her to choose first , she looked at her aunt who was standing on the side looking at them in amusement, she held on Danny's arm and he let her lift it up as she called for Y/N as if asking her *if it's ok to have one* and once she got the approval she picked one and looked up at him pointing back at her high chair on the side , waiting patiently to be set down to drink her juice in peace .
Daniel took the other box , sipping as he sat down not wasting time to ask " so , how's it going miss CEO " she groaned plumbing on a chair close to where he sat " I was just approved by the board yesterday and I'll be starting officially September 1st " he cuts her off " wait! You were serious about the interview thing !?" , she nods " dead serious , they give fair chances , I won't just barg in demanding to run things just cause my dad owns it , so as I was saying, I'll be touring the main branches starting from headquarters here and ending with UAE so I'll be able to at least attend the last race , then I'll work between here , New York and Sydney " she finished in a huff and he winced at the packed schedule "that's rough , buuuuuut " she lets a quite laugh as he cheered at the news of her attending the last race Gigi cheered along after she puts down her drink , not knowing what happened but she joined the celebration nonetheless.
He stood up after a while excusing himself for a minute returning with his bag letting it down before facing her , rubbing the back of his head as she watched him curiously " since I'm flying out today, I wanted to give you this , I wanted you to have it for a long time and as much as I'm bad with words I'll just let you read it latter and I want you to hold on to it " he took out the helmet handing it over to her to take , it was wrapped in her favourite colour wrap , so she couldn't read what's he wrote just yet , his phone rang before she could say anything he looked at her apologetically as he stood up " I have to head out " she nods silently holding back tears as he hugged Gigi goodbye and turned to her , both holding it in for the sake of the other as they shared a tight hug , he hummed as she mumbled with her head on his shoulder " please take care of yourself, no fighting , and don't be so hard on yourself out there , just enjoy it and make some good memories, alright?" He nods tightening his arms around her " you too , try not to overwork yourself , yeah? , I'll visit once I get the chance and will call , so you better keep your phone on or I'll fly back to Knock you door down " she gave a weak chuckle" I'll hold you to that " he nods again " make sure to cheer for me " she affirmed " always" , he sway them gently before he settled with a quite " okay" and with that they finally let go .
He took the empty bag with him , heading to the front door calling out for Marc " Oi ! Mario ! " Laughing at the loud groan and the stomping feet down the hall " still not my name!!" He stood with O'Connell in his arms a frown in his face seeing Daniel by the door ready to leave " you're not staying?" The driver shook his head, reaching out to scratch the cats head grinning as it purred in content " not this time , I gotta catch a flight soon , but I need you to take care of you aunt for me , ok !" the boy nod in understanding , puffing his chest and giving Daniel a small hug as his aunt and sister stood behind him watching as Daniel opened the door to leave , stepping out he turned when marc called out to him waving along with Gigi " we will cheer for you uncle Danny!" Along with an exited shout from his sister, he chuckled as he turn back getting in the car , waving at them as he rolled down the window as the car drove away .

Two hours later Max and Daniel sat in their seats getting ready to take off for their next race . A heavy silence overtook them but was soon cut off by Max who adjusted his headrest for the tenth time since he sat down, Groaning in annoyance before he threw it away to grab another pillow, Daniel looked at him as he threw it away asking in concern " what's wrong with you?!" Max started bouncing his leg up and down " it's quite , too quite, and it makes me anxious" Daniel shook his head " it's not the silence, Max it's cause she's not here " Max stilled " I know and it's just don't feels right " his friend sighed as he nods in agreement " I know. But it's out of our hands " Max replied in a quite voice as he turned his head away " that's what makes it harder to bear " looking out the window as they started moving up and off the ground.

The latest Rumours circulating the grid aren't just rumours anymore, as News of a sudden Mid-Season changes shook the F1 community to it's core . MERCEDES AMG F1 Team decided to replace their well known driver (Y/N L/N) with Williams former driver (George Russell) .
Sources confirmed that this occurred during the Hungarian Grand Prix right before summer break , where (L/N) contract was terminated by MERCEDES management, although this happened during the race weekend L/N went on to race her last round with the silver arrows scoring herself the third place along with her now former teammate (sir Lewis Hamilton) in second , and her long time friend/rival (Max Verstappen) in first place , ending her time as one of the arrows with an Impressive score .
F1 Fans and community widely criticized the decision once the team announcement of Russell's new position couple of days before the Belgian Grand Prix, bashing the Team's poor judgement and favouritism towards (Russell) as the team neglected to address the reasons behind the sudden irrational choice as some put it to be or even mentioning their former driver in any form of thank or gratitude for her time or achievement in the years she spent with them which fueled fans rage even more , putting the blame on the principle (Toto Wolff) as a major factor in losing such established driver as her , commenting on how (MERCEDES) gave up this year title for their rivals (RED BULL Racing)on a silver plate, as the replacement came in a critical time for both teams competing for the title with promising results from the former driver as she stood neck to neck against Verstappen with her teammate and former world champion far behind them .
Other sources commented that this move wasn't well played by MERCEDES who decided to make such bold move but it came with a hidden intent, saying [ "mercedes knew how much other teams wanted to secure her as a fixed driver for the next 5 years at least , such as red bull who wanted to sings her since 2019 , and Ferrari and now even Aston Martin with their developing team as Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement, but Toto was smart enough to oppose, promising to extend her contract up to 23 , but now that he turned his attention towards Russell as a valuable addition to their team's development he had to make sure these teams secured their drivers for the next season at least as a precaution , guaranteeing she'd stay out of competition while he develop his car in peace, even if it cost him a WDC" ] .
Others referred to it as an overdue decision but a good move in the right direction, referring to the now former driver name being involved in a series of scandals and alleged rumours circulating since 2018 regarding her dating other drivers , other rumours regarding assault and abuse towards working staff and mechanics and even misuse of position due to the favouritism she received for being the only female driver . All was dropped since no witnesses nor victims of these alleged accusations came to light . Some even speculated her leave was due to personal matters nodding at a possible pregnancy as some put it to be , but the driver is yet to address the topic in any of her social media platforms.
Either way (L/N) presence will be missed and hopefully her absence won't last long with the upcoming seasons we wish her the best in both her personal life and career as a F1 driver .

05:54 , she ran back and forth through the house as she held her folders and bag in one hand and the other held her phone and reading glasses case , she dumped them all in the table by the front door , checking mentality to see what she forgot in her rush , repeating twice before a sleepy voice came from the corner of the living as he walked up to her holding a pair of heels " Bibi , you forgot your shoes in the hallway " , she looked at him then at the heels in his hand then at her bare feet before she rushed back in mumbling to herself " I'm losing my damn mind " , she asked in concern as she looked at his tired face with hair tangled and over his eyes " I'm so sorry Tommy ,I must've woke you up with me running around at the crack of dawn " thanking him purposefully as he held his arm for her to hold on as she puts them on , he shook his head slowly in denial " it's okay , you didn't , I was already awake when your third alarm start blaring " she rolled her eyes at his teasing tone but that didn't lessen her concern " you had nightmares ? " He shook his head " not recently , I Just couldn't sleep , that's all ".
Once she's done she stood back with a frown before she held her hand to his forehead in worry " maybe you caught something , I should stay , go back in , I'll make you some tea and ........" He cuts her rambling before she could Push him back inside, chuckling at her frowning face and turned her back to the front door " you are not doing any of that , you are going to take a deep breath , and go out there and do what you do best " she looked back questioning " find a hole and hide in it " he made a face at her answer before exclaiming " what !? , No! That's my thing , you! , are going out there and prove how great you are ! " She whines at this , trying to sidestep her way back inside but he held his ground " fine ! I'll get some sleep aaannnd,...." He paused as she looked at him expectantly with a raised eyebrow , he groaned at her " I'll eat three full meals and I'll even send you proof , there ! Happy " she gave a satisfied nod as she picked her bag putting her everything in before she held her folders up and turned to her brother asking seriously " how do I look?" He nods with two thumbs up " like you're on your way to fire someone for sleeping in work hours " she hummed in thought " not likely but I can do with that " he pushed her out as they heard a car park outside, she gave him a quick hug " make sure to sleep well and I'll be waiting for these meals young man , oh and I left you a patch of muffins they're still warm , and don't drink so much coffee, you won't sleep well , and ........." He rolled his eyes " and you'll be late " she cursed as she ran down the driveway shouting back " I love you , stay safe " he laughed as she almost trip and shouts back " love you too , sly out there " she held the car door after she tripped again, laughing at herself as she gave a final wave " I'll try ! " .
He got back in after he shut the door , taking a deep breath as he threw himself on the couch face first , covering his head with his arms as his mind wandered back to the conversation he had with his brother, and the phone call he had last week, all raging in his mind like a hurricane waiting to strike .
He turned on his side ,eyes falling on the framed pictures , from old to new , far away memories and wide smiles , all of their family and their closest friends have at least one if not more , just like his sister insisted.
He smiled at the memory of having to frame and put up every single one under her order and preference , but his smile fades slightly as his eyes fell on his favourite one . right in the middle, he could barely remember any of his memories when he was that age or where it was taken , but he still recall how happy they all were that day , his brother Eddie was standing behind them both with his arms holding them , his sister standing by his side his head leaning on her shoulder as she held him from the side with her head leaning on his , all three are caught in a laugh, their father could be seen sitting in the background smiling fondly at his children.
He couldn't get himself to look away as his eyes stung with unshed tears , he whispered to himself " we'll be alright , we have to ....... we'll be alright " , repeating on and on until he drifts away into a dreamless sleep , finally letting his mind get it's much needed rest .

The car rolled to a stop Infront of a sky scraper, the sight alone was intimidating , the spotless building stood tall and mighty before her , she got out still looking up at her new work place, adjusted her suit jacket as she took a deep breath in , releasing it in a calm exhale, looking back down she straightened her posture, walking on with a new purpose in her steps, confidently making her way in , nodding in acknowledgement as employees and receptionists stood in greeting to her .
Her assistant stood by the elevator, greeting her kindly before giving her a full schedule of the day along with upcoming meetings and other engagements that required her presence .
They stepped out once they arrived to their destination , the hallway was empty as they made their way down to the last door to the left , inside every head of department along with their assistant managers , stood in the conference room , all waiting for her arrival, greeting in firm nods as their eyes followed her like a prey , waiting for a slip to attack.
she kept her gaze confident yet respectful as she took her place at the head of the table gesturing with both hands for everyone to take a seat .
She remained standing as she spoke in an even calm voice " for a start I'd like to thank everyone for their time in such short notice , and I hope staring from today we establish a solid understanding built on trust, and honest effort " she paused as they showed their agreement to her words , she went on in assuring tone " no drastic changes will occur for now as we go through the last quarter of the year, however each department will be undergoing an evaluation trial , starting from today up until next year's first quarter, by then we'll have more insight to make the right and much needed decisions , however in case of priorities we'll make and execute such drastic changes accordingly " she took a moment of silence incase anyone have any opposing opinion, she went on when she found non , "seeing we're all on the same page here , shall we begin?" .

Charles leaned his back against her side tilting his head on her chest , his hair is tussled and his frown gone as he closed his eyes in content, her arm draped over his shoulder from the back , as her hand rested over his heart with one of his holding onto it as he slept .
Their joined hands raising and falling with every breath he took and his posture calm a relaxed, A major contrast from his usually tense and guarded self . Her other hand rested on Max's hand that he let her hold , tracing over his scared hand as she followed the lines and raised tissue on the back of it , his head resting on her shoulder with hers leaning over his .
All three basking in the cool wind as it breathed around them the place is a small piece of heaven with overgrown trees and wild flowers scattering around and disappearing beyond the treelines , tucked away from the main court where the main families meet to for business .
They Found it years ago and run to whenever they got the chance , taking a fresh breath of air was a rare occurrence as their families increased their responsibilities with every passing day , yet they cherished these fleeting moments even if short and spent in silence, still very precious to them .
She closed her eyes , enjoying the stolen moment of peace , Max's voice cuts through the peaceful haze " Mijn liefje , you have to wake up " . She frowned at his words, but kept her eyes closed " but I want to stay here , with you " she felt him hold her hand gently , lifting it up to place a delicate kiss on the back of it , leaving behind a a tingling sensation that turned into a scorching pain causing her to wince , he whispered in a far away voice " but you know that this isn't real " , she tried to argue back but her words got caught in her throat . And as she strained her hearing she couldn't hear the sound of bustling leaves above them anymore as it fades into a steady ticking bounced around her head before it stopped with the loud ringing of the church bell from the other side of the block . Snapping her awake from the beautifully haunting daydreams that kept plaguing her days .
Moving away from the wall she was leaning on , fighting the urge to scratch at the back of her tightly wrapped hand as she crouched down , readjusting her coms before leaning down into position , sight set on the moving cars as she counted three moving ahead towards the gates, another one barked not far from the front entrance across the street, and another going around for the past hour or so appearing irregularly without a specific timing but not close enough to draw attention, a surveillance team of sorts.
Clicking her coms on as she followed the van one block before it turned a corner and out of sight " Marv , surveillance is heading your way 10 seconds east " the line clicked and the voice answered back " copy that " . Another line connected as she fixed her aim at the last car as it stopped before the gate but no one got out " Jinx here, the back is cleared, no setbacks here , sirens are in position and ready to go " she acknowledged with a "copy that " , swiftly shooting the tires of the the target's car as a precaution , forcing them to get him out eventually to ensure his safety.
Counting her side tasks for the day , the first car had at least three armed guards the , second had 4 armed who posed as a diversion to cover the third which had two armed guards one personal bodyguard along with the target .
She took down the first two guards injuring the third as they stepped out, another one from the second car and three more as they tried to shoot back at her place in the rooftop. Leaving the best for last when two more guards emerged from the said car . She ducked as the last guard aimed at her head , missing twice before he ran out of ammo. She took him out with one shot , Leaving the target with no protection for now .
The silence was defining as she head down the stairs , gun loaded and ready . she called through her Comms " we're on the move, start phase 2, sirens , lock and move " , they answered in confirmation starting their own tasks at hand .
While she approached the car slowly , she found the target first , unarmed and trembling as he babbled on trying to bargain himself out " I'll give you whatever you want, how much ?! 5 million , 9 I'll give you 12 please! Whatever you want!!" As he kept frantically pleading his guard sneaked up on her , trying to grab her by the neck , but was met with a kick and a bullet to the leg caughting him off guard, he stumbled back but grabbed a hold of her ankle dragging her down with him , she rolled away aiming for his head but he took cover with the car door , the target was screaming as bullets kept shooting towards him with one barley taking his ear as he ducked , she groaned as she threw her now empty gun , taking out another one but the bastard kicked it out of her hand , she took a deep breath " you asked for it " she charged at him ducking last second swiping his feet , making him fall face first before pinning him down with both arms pulled behind his back with her knee centered between his shoulders blades , putting pressure down while pulling hard enough until two loud pops were heard , the guard screamed along with the target who held his arms in fear , watching in horror as she now held her fallen gun to the back of the guard's head shooting once before she stood up turning to him .
He tried to scoot back shaking the door beside him in attempt to flee his death , she got in slowly , sitting beside him in a bored manner shutting the door behind her with a swift move, he stilled as she finally looked at him with sharp eyes , feeling cold chills running through his bones he attempted to plead again " I'll give everything you want! Please spare me!" She shook her head as she leaned back into the seat , keeping him cornered as she spoke in a cold voice " you seem to forget our values Mr Matthew , we don't spare traitors , nor do we bargain with death" he shouted at her cursing as he couldn't escape his fate " you're a wretched girl you'll rott in hell! Where you belong !!!!" She gave him a sinister smile as she leaned in close to whisper in his ear " then tell the devil I'm coming for his throne while you're down there" wiping the grin off her face as she shot a final bullet before she got out , closing the door swiftly behind her as she walked away and down the street , clicking her coms back on she updated " target is terminated , Marv status?" stopping by a white van , getting in as she got a response " all clear here , heading out " she looked at the flowing data on the screens before her " copy that " turning to the driver she signalled for him to drive before she reconnect one last time " sirens , your status?" An answer sounds out immediately " targets secured, no casualties, heading out now " satisfied with the results she call out " regrouping in 10 " everyone called back " copy" before she turned off her earpiece, letting the monitor on as they drove back in silence , she filtered through the files in search for what they needed , humming quitely before she stilled with wide eyes in astonishment as she finally came across what she was looking for , smiling devilishly at the screen " Oh , it seems like you've dug yourself a deep hole Mr Ralph , and I'll make sure to bury you in it " .

" Marko ! " Came through the smoke filled and overheating hallway followed by two claps , then again with increasing distress as she tried to listen to any response over the cracking fire and the sirens blaring from outside . She somehow managed to swallow her panic and started looking for James, one of her brilliant students who have the habit of hiding in the art workshop where he spent most of his time during recess and after school, either to hide away from the loud crowd of kids or to run away from the older kids who tried to tease him every once in a while, and when she couldn't find him when they start the evacuation she knew he was there , alone , and he was scared out of his mind , so after telling Debbie who worked at registration who shook her head immediately " maybe he got out with the others" , she shook her head in denial " he gets too scared of crowds , he won't get out if there's so much noise, I'll be quick and see if there's anyone else in there " and sprinted back in before anyone could stop her over the still blaring alarm.
" Marko! " She called again through the deserted room which is slowly filling with smoke and when she was about to turn around and look through the nearby classrooms a small faint voice called out " polo ! " She almost relaxed at finally finding him but didn't waste time running over to the stacked foam boards by the wall and kneeled before them meeting the face of a crying James who was hiding with his arms tightly wrapped around his knees , " Jamie? " , he shook his head as his tears kept falling " no , but I'm scared" crying harder at the sight of the building smoke making her turn his head her way instructing in a firm yet soft voice " listen to me Jamie, we need to get out , but we can't just go out because there's a lot of smoke in the hallway so we'll do some work to be able to go out safe ok ? " He managed to nod watching as she ran to the supply cabinet where she took the biggest piece of fabric she could find which wasn't much and ran to the sinks on the other side, praying for it to still run , and cheered silently when it does then she ran the fabric under water and made sure it was wet all the way through before turning to James and beckoned him over , taking a discard cup and filled it before pouring it all over him and repeated the process a couple of times before doing the same to herself , then she spoke to him after kneeling down and covered his head with the wet cloth " ok Jaime, we'll head out now , hold on to me tightly and make sure to breathe slowly ok ? , the wet cloth will help with the smoke and don't let go no matter what you understand " he nodded with a fearful look and braced himself when she covered him with the dripping cloth and lifted him up making him wrap his arms and legs around her in a tight hold with her arm around his back and the other protecting his head .
She pushed her door open with her foot and quickly stepped out into the smoke , the heat was very high for her to stand in place so she make her way to the closest exit, relying on memory to avoid running into walls or stumbling into deadened hallways , but as she moved ahead she heard a loud cracking from above, and seconds later a big chunk fell right before her , startling her back as the burning flames rose up the walls on each side , with a step back she turned the other way and started looking for another way out , and couple of steps away she heard a voice calling out " hey ! Is there anyone here !? , can you hear me?! " She called back " we are here! , help ! " And seconds later heavy footsteps made their way over , a firefighter with full gear walked up to them and stopped at their sight , looking her over for injuries and then at the bundle in her arms before asking in a haste " are you L/N? " She nodded and he sighed in relief, gesturing for her to move quickly as the flames got bigger as they moved on , " we need to hurry out, this place is falling apart and you're the last ones here ! Everyone else is already out ! " She nods in understanding, thanking God and Debbie for informing someone about them still being inside , knowing it'd have been harder for them to get out with no help in their situation.
Another familiar cracking sound made her snap her head up , and before she could think she pushed the firefighter aside and fell to the other on her back earning a loud scream from James who was still clinging to her . The hit made her head spin and the world started to tilt sideways as the back of her head took most of the impact with the cement wall she was now leaning on . The firefighter was startled for a moment, looking at her slumped figure then at the big chunk on the ground between them in shock , realising that ' that could've took him out , and that she saved his life ' and quickly collected himself and rushed towards her " hey ! Lady , can you hear me! , hey! Open your eyes ! come on! " when she didn't respond he growled in frustration at the still raging fire around them and pushed the thought of taking trips getting them out , so he called out for the bundle still attached to her " listen kid ! " When he saw the kid's head move his way he carried on " you gotta hold on tighter alright!? , your teacher is a bit hurt so I'll carry you both out quickly to get her help ok ?! " He took the upward movement as his qué and moved to lift her limb body up and he cursed at the sight of blood on the wall where her head must hit , which pushed him to move faster to get them the hell out of there .
Once out her rushed to the nearest ambulance and called out to paramedics moving their way with a ready stretcher " head injury and smoke inhalation " they loaded them up trying to remove the still clinging kid out of her hold but he cried out and refused to budge , making Kimi climb in and called out " hey kid ! " James stilled and turn his head to where Kim's voice came from, stiffening as he reached out to take the cloth still covering his head making him squint his eyes at the harsh light then looked around at the strange faces before looking down at his favourite teacher still form her closed eyes made him tear up again as he called out " miss Y/N ? " When she didn't respond he started sobbing before anyone could console him , his head turned to Kimi's familiar voice "hey now , no need to cry , being this brave you got to stay strong for her to be alright " he then pointed at the waiting paramedics " my friends here needs to check on both of you so they could help " James gave it a thought before nodding, making Kimi smile at him then picked him up to set him on the bench on the side for one of the paramedics to check on him leaving the rest to tend to the unconscious woman and then he turned and went back out to check on the team and how's everything going . The fire is halfway out and the remaining areas are where they where , the flames devoured everything on it's way and left the side of the building completely unrecognisable .

Three days went by before Kimi found himself in the hospital waiting lounge, lost in thoughts as he waited beside Sebastian who dragged him along as one of the clumsy rookie's on Seb's team twisted his ankle on the first day on the job . Resulting in them accompanying him there as there was nothing better to do , other than the stacks of paperwork waiting to be done .
Sebastian nudged him out of his mind with a teasing smile " still thinking about her ? " , Kimi rolled his eyes at him " quit down before 'she' hears you " a voice called out as the person approached them " who is 'she' and what do you not want me to hear ? " .

" James looked up after having lost hope at Val's words and looked in anticipation, unaware of Kimi's glare at his friend's antics and tried to shake his head at them in warning but to no avail as Seb went on " what if ........ " Val nod in thought before turning to the boy who was already looking at the said man with wide hope filled eyes , making her share a discreet smirk with Seb before turning to Kimi who's glare amplified before sighing in defeat, much to his friend's joy and stood with a tired huff and reached his hand out for him to take after asking for the rooms number, to which Val called out sweetly " 107 " cackling as he flipped them both behind the kid's back as they fist pumped at the successful attempt .

The two found their way towards the said room , hands swinging as James skipped along chatting with Kimi about his favourite book that miss Y/N gave him as a gift , and Kimi could only nod along asking about it's contents, and not long after they found their way to the destined room . Knocking lightly then entering after a soft "come in " sounded from inside making James step in first greeting excitedly as he ran to her bedside , followed by Kimi who was hesitant to step in but was dragged in by Jamie , their eyes met as he stepped in both startled but only for a beat before her eyes lit up with a warm glimt , beckoning him to let his tense shoulders down as a gentle smile breaking through as he greeted her with a small wave and a gentle " hello " watching in relief as she gave back her own greeting with a wide smile of recognition .
