like we’re made of starlight ∙∙∙ ansgi
Sure, it had only been a matter of days since the last time he’d held his girlfriend in his arms, barely a week since he’d been able to run his fingertips down her back, feel her shudder under his light touch, since he’d been able to steal small kisses in the shadows of the MET ball. But like Cinderella, that night had come and gone, the clock had stuck midnight all too soon and before Ansel knew it, he was on a jet taking him back to Atlanta with no clue on when he’d get to see his Princess Charming again. Texting and the nightly FaceTime session could only sustain him for so long and it felt like his relationship was falling into a rut, something that he knew he did not want. It had been months since he and Gigi had had a proper date, just the two of them, away from cameras or red carpets or parties full of hundreds of their closest friends and he knew the strain he was feeling, Gigi was feeling too. It wasn’t fair to either of them and he knew that if they weren’t careful, their jobs would tear them apart at the seams. Something needed to be done.
“I’m telling you, GH. You gotta stay closer to your phones when you spend all day on set. This meteor shower only comes around once every thousand years and it’s happening tonight. Get your ass to the roof.” The duo had been on the phone for about half an hour, a good portion of which had been spent convincing an exhausted Gigi to go up to the roof to gaze at the same fall rocks that he was. If they couldn’t be together, at least they could do the same thing and discuss it. “Are you going? C’mon, run Ace. Haul ass!” All he needed was to get her to that damn rooftop.
