Digging his keys from his pocket, Emmett made his way begrudgingly across campus, heading away from the Homecoming Ball and towards the Montgomery building, and ultimately his dorm room. While it hadn’t quite been the night he’d hoped for, it had been quite a night. He’d enjoyed his time at the ball for what it was, and now he was planning on starting his own party- one involving his good friend, Jack Daniels. Thumbing through his keys, he found his way easily to his door, nearly just stepping inside, Something, however, caught his eye. Turning, he took in the sight of Gabriel Anders sitting with his back against the wall. Furrowing his eyebrows, Emmett cocked his head and took a few steps forward. “Having fun?” He asked in his usual joking tone. “I mean, this hallway is great and all but the ball’s still going for an hour or so yet, seems to me like that’s where the real party is.”

Once she’d received the notification that the list of winning bids from the Auction had been posted, Lorraine opened the post immediately, a smile crossing her face as her mind raced to each and every possibility for her date with Gabriel. However, as her eyes scanned the list, Lorraine’s face fell, her heart falling into her stomach as her eyes read what was written. Someone else had bid on Gabriel- the one person she’d put in a bid on. The person she’d spent every night with for...Nearly a month, now. The person she openly flirted with, who she didn’t hide her feelings for...The one person she wanted. “Gabriel...” She began, her eyes darting towards the man sitting across from her. “You’re going on a date with Mali.” @theguardiangabriel
After everything that had happened over the past couple of days, Lorraine found herself unable to sleep. Though, sometime in the night, she began to feel unusually ill. It was as if whatever was ailing her hit her all at once, and she barely managed to take herself into the bathroom before being sick. Lorraine stood, shakily, making her way to the sink to bring a couple of handfuls of water to her mouth, only just having spit the last of it out before racing back to the toilet once more. “G-Gabriel...” She managed, tears streaking her face as she called out for the only person she wanted. “Close your eyes, but come here please.” Despite how she was feeling, Lorraine found it in her mind to be concerned with Gabriel seeing her in this state. @theguardiangabriel
Gabriel, my sweetheart...Sit down. I have some things to show you. @theguardiangabriel
Hearing the knock on the door, Lorraine stood from her position at the table and made her way over, running a hand through her hair quickly in an attempt to make herself more presentable. Her hand found the knob easily, turning it as she put on a smile. That smile faded quickly into a look of confusion, realizing that there wasn’t actually anyone at the door but, rather, a delivery placed gently just over the threshold. Looking down, she couldn’t help but to allow a curious yet hesitant smile to spread across her face at the sight of her absolute favorite flower- purple roses. Stooping to collect them, she lifted the bouquet gently before closing the door and turning her attention back to Gabriel. “Gabriel, my darling, did you...How did you know these were my favorites?” Lorraine asked, making her way over to her Guardian. Noticing a note card, she pulled it from its position, her eyes scanning the message quickly. Suddenly, Lorraine’s body went rigid, eyes wide as she slowly lowered the note, feeling as though her blood had run completely cold. “Oh, my...” She near whispered. @theguardiangabriel
Lorraine had hoped that being out in the woods, in nature, away from the halls and expectations of the Academy would only further her ability to sleep. She’d been much more restful since she and Gabriel had begun spending time together at night, and again even more so when they’d spent the night together. She’d slept well during their first night, the safety and comfort of having Gabriel someone close by making her feel more secure than she had in some time- a fact she hadn’t and wouldn’t readily admit to anyone. Tonight, however, had been different. Since her conversation with Victoria nearly two weeks ago, and the subsequent meeting she’d had with Zach, she couldn’t seem to shake the feeling that something was coming, something was happening, something they needed to be prepared for. Still, she hadn’t gotten any solid information regarding exactly what that was, and all she could gain from the other side and her Spirit Guide was that danger was imminent. Without anything further to go or build upon, she’d kept to herself, doing her best to quell her own anxieties and maintain a normal demeanor.
That feeling of dread, though, had begun to worsen midday Thursday, and it hadn’t let up sense. Lorraine confessed her feelings to no one, not wanting to ruin the fun of everyone around her. The Spirits had become much more active, especially that evening, as everyone surrounded the campfire to trade songs and fun stories. It seemed as though everywhere she looked, there was another, reaching out for her, pointing at her, calling to her. Still, she kept quiet. When she and Gabriel had turned in for the night, she struggled to fall asleep, and when she did sleep she was plagued by bad dreams. Dreams had always been just another way for her to connect with the dead, to communicate with the Spirits who wished to communicate with her. And that night, her dreams had been absolute nightmares. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason, she simply found herself somewhere unfamiliar, a dungeon of sorts, the sounds of screaming and torment filling her ears as she struggled to orient herself, struggled to gain her footing, struggled to escape. Disembodied hands thrust towards her out of the darkness, grabbing at her, clawing at her, as she struggle to catch her breath.
In her sleep, Lorraine’s began to toss and turn, kicking at things invisible to onlookers. Her head turned frantically from side-to-side, as she begged repetitively, “no, no, no, no!” Increasing in volume, her pleas becoming more frantic until her ability form words dissolved into a scream of her own, mere seconds before Sebastian’s screams ripped through the campsite. Shooting straight up, Lorraine grasped for something, anything to hold onto. Anything to ground herself as her chest heaved. Tears made their way down her pale face, and she did her best to collect herself, though nothing seemed to be working. “They’re coming.” She whispered into the darkness, her voice shaking. As lights began to flicker on from the tents around them, a shadow of writing along the outside of the tent she shared with Gabriel could be seen. Even backwards, the message was clear, as was the symbol accompanying it. “You speak to the dead, but soon you’ll join them. Children of the Council must burn.” @theguardiangabriel
Hello, darling. How are you feeling, after the events of the day? We can read now, if you want, or we can just talk and save the reading for later. I’m excited for this trip, you know. For everything that is planned, and the time I’ll get to spend with you. @theguardiangabriel
