F2F → GENDRIX
Walking down the familiar path to the boy's dorm felt rather surreal to the huntress. She'd been certain that she'd never have a reason to wak down this way again and -- the brief stay at Tristan's aside -- she had yet to set foot in the building since the day after the attack when she'd ransacked the Gilberts' rooms, refusing to allow any of their precious possessions be at risk at the hands of others. Even after weeks of keeping her distance, none of the boys that remained seemed to bat an eye as she made her way down their halls, crossing the unspoken line between the safe space in which boys and girls were allowed to mingle and the forbidden territory that was the boy's rooms.
Hendrix didn't even pause to knock, the text previously sent to her alerting her that her presence was expected, so she slipped in quietly, door closing behind her. When she reached the bedroom, the brunette leaned against the door's frame, chocolate orbs fixed on the movement of the man before her. Gage appeared to be focused on the task at hands, storing clothing in his old duffel bag with a sense of finesse that came only with years of practice.
There was a deep longing within the huntress to reach out and assure herself that Gage was truly with her, a desire to look into those overly familiar crystalline hues and see him in there. Yet she remained where she was, uncertain if her touch would be welcomed. That realization -- that there was a lingering doubt hanging over her, over them -- brought sadness into her heart, momentarily tainting the elation she'd been feeling with the knowledge that Gage was back, was himself once more. Clearing her throat, Hendrix dropped her gaze, forcing words to be spoken to break the silence, "I have some of your things back in my room. Heard that Schue was talking about getting rid of things and, well..." Shrugging her shoulders, the brunette pushed herself away from the door and wandered further into the room. "I didn't think that either you or Elliott would appreciate your mom and dad's things being touched by someone else."
