if you are looking for a new graphics card, or specifically a RAM upgrade, you might want to buy now. It’s already a little too late though.
AI is causing a massive RAM shortage. Prices have shot up tremendously. It will not be going down anytime soon, and will probably be going up even further.
This affects graphics cards because they use VRAM.
Here is what I paid for a 64 gigabyte kit of DDR5 ram a few months ago.
this is a graph showing a price of a 64 gigabyte kit by Corsair over the last month. I bought this for $215 earlier this year(and it crept up to $250 in July I suppose). As you can see, it is now about $500.
This is only going to get worse.
