YOU WOULD THINK that after being here a few days, maureen wouldn’t get turned around, yet here she was carrying three boxes stacked on top of one another into the lobby of the wrong complex. in her defense, she did view this place before realizing it totally wasn’t the one for her. she was making a big paycheck now, she could afford one of the pricier buildings, although this one gave her a weird sense of familiarity in the form of when she lived in new york city. those days were history but lingered in the back of her mind like that one cheesy rom-com from the nineties that you loved to hate, she couldn’t escape the nostalgia it seemed. heeled boots clicked across the tile of the lobby before she sighed behind the boxes, seeing a pair of feet in front of her from around the things in her hands, the woman cleared her throat, “excuse me, is this the baltimore building or did i totally fuck up here??”
