Train coming off the Tehachapi loop heading to Bakersfield.
Full moon rising.
December 17th, Casa Grande AZ
At 7am they took our rig in for its alignment. Meanwhile we tool of to Estrella mountain park for some chilly morning hiking. The park offers several trails that climb into the hills and then valleys. As the sun rose we got warmer.
After lunch we went back to freightliner and our rig was parked. The excitement of being done was doused with the reality that our tech, Jason, was stuck on another rig and hadn't been able to deal with our air or belt. Around 2pm Jason came to get the rig and we told him just concentrate on the air as he might not have time to do both but he assured us he thought he could complete both. At 3:30 he brought the rig back with all the work done!
By 4pm we were heading to Casa Grande which should be an hour away but the GPS was saying 6pm arrival due to accidents south of Phoenix. We called the park to inform them and since they don't park in dark, we would have to stay at their over flow lot for the night.
As we traveled, the accidents started clearing and the GPS slowly rolled back to 5:30pm. We got to the park at dusk and the ranger let us park in our spot!
Here we are at our winter home until April.
The typical stop n go traffic through the Indian reservation south of Phoenix.
Sun rising over a pretty valley along our hike.
The park sits just behind the Phoenix raceway.
