Alternate reality
You have been in my dreams for a few nights. I ran to you and with my face close to yours, I could not stop smiling. It was our secret moment of a skew reality. A forbidden wish that one must be careful to make, something that cannot be yet it doesn't mean it's not there. Our juvenile hearts beating for both yet beating stronger for them. A curiosity we cannot take in case there's a cat somewhere. We do not dare be the killers; there are more than just us to hurt. In my dreams, we stay silent, as we do in reality… yet in an unspecified time, it's just us. The only time in a surreal life that I have to express what is really there. Hugging, smiling, knowing that's all it's gonna be, that's as far as we can go. You hold my hand and we dance the way I once wished we did. I put my head on your chest, no need for music when your heart sings its own lullaby. And for just that one second, I wish the worlds were changed.
