It’s 11:30 at night, and the bedroom door starts to creak open.

I had been meaning to contact maintenance to get that bedroom door fixed for weeks now.

This night is the nail in the coffin for getting that maintenance request.

The significance of this is that our wonderful cat is not supposed to come into the master bedroom.

However, I think he figured out that he can push it open.

Once I got my foot stuck in a crack on the floor because my shoe had a tear in it that got stuck in it and like, ground up under the bit of wood sticking out andon a nail, and I just face-planted hardcore.

And Then I Fell On My Face: The Story of My Life

Sunday's classic race went pretty well. There was a lot of powerful but awkward double poling. I haven't quite got the "bend at the ankles" thing so I just sort of hinge at the waist until my nose touches my knees. I can't find photos of anyone online, so here's a picture of what it felt like. 

I got to race on my new Rossignol classic skis! Neato. Awesome wax pocket that still needs some good kicking to get used to. I've never had classic skis so fast!  :D

On my second lap, halfway up the hill that everyone was standing on, I put my pole between my skis and face-planted spectacularly. The ground came very quickly to meet my nose. I also landed on my shoulder and it very audibly went "Crunch."

Ow.

The rest of the race went ok, just 40 minutes of trying to catch up to my teammates and get away from my teammates. Then the lady at the finish line gave me warm gatorade. And I was so happy.

After the race everyone admitted that they saw me land on my face. Even people I don't know that well. "Nice acrobatics!" our wax tech said, "It was very funny." I smiled magnanimously.
