Is it just me or did Asami get thinner in B4? Or is it the hair? Stress, perhaps? Or just a way to make her look "older"? I know my face got a lot thinner between 18-20ish. Thoughts?
Well…she certainly could have lost weight or just had her face get thinner in general. It’d be in keeping with how I’ve envisioned the three year gap (or just aging), which obviously isn’t gospel, but I think it’s relatively canon-supportive. And yeah, the hair change also could make her look different. Her appearance at the wedding isn’t markedly different than like S1:
(though if the height discussions taught us anything it’s that you can find caps that look one way or another from any season). So we could chalk a lot of it up to the hair.
But really…Asami became a bit of a facebender once Studio Mir took the reigns back. katabatics was kind enough to showcase just how variable it gets within one episode:
I don’t know why she is apparently so difficult to draw (those goggles really fucked with them)? There’s a whole lot of inconsistency. Book 4 was relatively uniform, but yeah. I can’t really tell if it’s the hair or what.
