pocky day / accepting.

he didn’t expect to run into hinata on his way back from the library, although he can’t say he wasn’t pleased about them running into each other. in fact, running into hinata of all people made him overjoyed. even if they just simply passed by each other with no interaction other than that, he’d still be happy. he honestly didn’t believe he deserved to interact with the other male, he’d only waste the others time, after all. …but even so, he can’t help but speak to the other while glancing at the red box in his hand. ❝ did you get that from the market? to be honest, i didn’t think they’d have POCKY there, but i guess that place really does have everything, doesn’t it. ❞

❝ …let me take a guess, you got that because of today’s DATE, no? am i correct in saying that or…? ❞ he laughs at what he assumes to be hinata’s embarrassment to being caught participating in a small holiday such as pocky day. ❝ i really didn’t see you as the type to take matters like this so seriously, hinata - kun— ❞ he certainly did find it cute though, ❝ that being said, you certainly didn’t just get that box to eat it all by yourself on this day, right? were you perhaps planning to also play the pocky game with someone SPECIAL? ❞

a part of him believes it’s possible that hinata has NO IDEA what he’s talking about, but he’d also like to believe the other is well versed in knowledge such as this. after all, if he knew about the date itself, so he must’ve also known the game & how to play it. ❝ if you don’t know what game i’m talking about hinata-kun, i’d be happy to––––– SHOW you! ❞ he was simply going to tell hinata about the game if he didn’t know, but he couldn’t help himself from instead saying he’d show the other how to play it. he probably shouldn’t have said it— it’s wrong of him to take advantage of this moment just so he could get a chance to KISS hinata… he knows it’s wrong of him to be this selfish. and his luck will certainly remind him this is wrong of him by making things go bad, if he doesn’t screw this chance up for himself, of course. yet, all his judgement was simply shrugged off by the sudden loud beating of his heart. god, it was so loud, he was sure that hinata could hear it, and would be scared off by it. ❝ of course, that’s only if you want someone like me to show you. ❞ he HOPED hinata would say yes, even if trash such as himself had no right to kiss him , he still really wanted to.

the fact that hinata gives a small nod— allowing him to play the pocky game with him, makes his heart explode in his chest… at the same time though, it feels calm. like, even though he knows what he’s doing right now is wrong, and it will throw his luck cycle off balance ( since this is a tremendous amount of GOOD LUCK ), he can’t help but think it’ll feel… RIGHT. right in a sense that, he’ll be able to kiss hinata ( even if it is just through a game ).

his hand reaches towards the others and he grabs the box, taking it away from him. he notes how his hand is shaking ever so slightly as he opens both the box and the small package the sweets were in… he’s unsure if his hands are shaking out of excitement or of nervousness, maybe both..? quickly pushing that thought aside, he takes out a stick of pocky while shoving the rest in his pockets. ❝ i— the way you’re suppose to play is by placing either ends of the pocky on our lips and we eat it, essentially we’ll both end up kissing. the one who holds out the longest WINS. …do you still want me to show you, hinata-kun? i know you already said i could show you, but you know it’s not too late to back out of it. ❞ he probably should’ve went for straight for playing instead of explaining the rules. he’s sure hinata won’t want to play anymore after finding out they’re going to end up kissing. however, the determined look coming from the other suddenly has him believing OTHERWISE. …perhaps hinata was looking for an excuse to kiss him as well, or maybe that’s just wishful thinking.

whatever it was, it didn’t stop komaeda from placing the biscuit on both of their lips. he notices how hinata seems to be just as eager to reach the center of the treat as him, and a part of him is thankful that he’s willing to play despite having to kiss garbage such as himself. when their lips meet he was certain about one thing though, this really did feel right. hinata’s lips were soft, and he could still taste the chocolate from the pocky stick on them.

his hands move from awkwardly laying at his side, to cupping hinata’s cheeks. he wanted to deepen the kiss, yet it was very likely that hinata probably wanted anything but that, so instead he pulls away from the kiss, his cheeks flushed as he pants slightly.
