ITC Membership + AI Virtual Summit Recordings + College Sharing Event
As you may or may not be aware TBCC is a member of the Instructional Technology Council Network, and through that we have access to a variety of professional development, networking and leadership opportunities.
Each year they organize a big elearning conference (which always seems to be held in Las Vegas), a distance education leadership academy, and a variety of other virtual opportunities for enrichment, including the very recent AI Virtual Summit.
Here is a list of other ongoing/ upcoming opportunities:
Distance Educated Podcast (Click the box below to open.)
Tuesday Talks - the next one is Tuesday, November 14th, 11-12 PM (Pacific Time) - "Translating Tech: Improving Communication Skills for IT and Edtech Professionals." Click here to register.
A couple of inexpensive Microcredential Courses ($75 per person). Click here for more info.
Additional resources are available on their website. If you need to log in and have difficulty signing in or signing up for something, please be sure and let me (Sarah) know. I'm happy to help you figure things out.
Anyway, it's a worthwhile group to get involved with, and we have a paid membership to the organization and I hope you'll take advantage of a couple of these opportunities :).
AI Virtual Summit Recordings
If you did not get a chance to join for the AI virtual summit last week, please check out the recordings in the play list below at your convenience. The presentations were really interesting and I hope we continue to talk about artificial intelligence internally on a regular basis. (Click the box below to open the list.)
Someone jumped in with an "emergency" presentation on ai prompts. She did such a good job. I have a copy of the slides, if you are interested in seeing them. Below is one image we found particularly interesting, describing how "good" different ai tools are at different things.
College Sharing - AI in the Classroom
If you want to literally continue the conversation, TBCC and Lane and OCCDLA are co-hosting a "College Sharing" event online next Tuesday, 11/21 at 2 PM. The topic is AI In the classroom. They usually go about an hour, but we predict this will go longer. There are already about 50 people signed up. Please click here to register or let me (Sarah) know you'd like to be added to my calendar invite.
