This place was dark, had always been but now even the fog that had once added a little eerie light to the surroundings was gone. Maybe because there had been less and less dreamers, maybe because there were too many lost spirits wandering and wailing out their deepest fears so this place had changed. Whatever it was, it was none of his concern anymore and where he once might have felt responsible for the poor souls lost in this madness, he now was merely angered by their incompetence.
If he would have stopped and listened, the sting in his chest, singing of older days would have returned and Falon’Din did not want that. It was denial but he did not want to remember and it made him restless. Enough to wander the Fade, there were sometimes things, beings, he just could not ignore.
The soul of a young woman arouse his attention. Again someone lost? No, this was different. A dreamer? He was not sure but there were enough creatures close by that did not care and would attack anyway. He could not tell why he did, but out of whim – maybe - he appeared right behind her, darkness and reality bending nature of this place aiding him. His mere presence drove most of the lurking things away instantly. “Should you not be more careful? Unless you have a deathwish…”
