iconic asks... Saam Das of fadedglamour.co.uk
Faded Glamour is a film and music blog best described in Saam's own words "We showcase new artists, rave about trailers, giveaway mp3s, review films, highlight underappreciated bands, moan about the telly, do podcasts and so much more."
Saam's used iconic.fm for a while now, so we thought we'd ask him:
Belle and Sebastian @ The O2 Academy Islington, June 2004
"Even though I'm not a Belle & Sebastian obsessive, there was a kind of infectious joy which spread throughout the audience as the band played hit after hit from their back catalogue."
Were you there too? let us know here
Tooting Tram & Social, London
"Quite a few of my preferred London venues have sadly closed but I did visit a rather nice venue in Tooting recently called the Tram & Social, which has a grandiose setting that makes you feel like you've been transported to a different era."
You can follow The Tram & Social here
ONE BAND YOU HAVE TO SEE BEFORE YOU DIE?
"I'm sure I'm about to lose any credibility I ever had but I really would love to see Weezer. While the albums have been consistently under-par for quite some time, there are still so many songs that I adore that I genuinely hope that they keep going for many more years.".
No gigs coming up at the moment, but keep an eye on Weezer here.
ONE BAND WE "HAVE TO SEE LIVE"?
“Fight Like Apes are definitely a band that need to be experienced live. They deliver a quite astonishing array of spiky synth pop tunes with a healthy dose of hilarious banter and sometimes even props.”
Again, no gigs coming up at the moment, but follow them here
Thanks very much to Saam!
