Not enough. Never enough.

Ace frowned at the words written on their arm, the thoughts of their soulmate. Ace never really thought much about their soulmate other than they liked knowing they had one. That they had someone out there that was just for them. Every time Ace thought about them they couldn't help but smile and feel warm.

Ever since the words showed up Ace would always look down at them. At first it was with excitement and joy but soon turned into a nervous habit. The thought of them suddenly disappearing plagued them after a particularly nasty demon got a hold of Ace. It was comforting to know after the event the words on his arm were soft and comforting, giving him hope.

Currently the words didn't change, and their frown deepened. Ace walked through the halls of Lamination, searching for anyone that happened to be around. Cal was supposed to meet them an hour ago and they hadn't shown up. Ace, having been distracted, didn't even notice they were late until his roommate and friend Dakota returned to their room and said something. Ace then began to look over the house to try and find Cal, thinking the angel somehow got lost yet stopped when they noticed the words on their arm change. The mission didn't change yet the reason for it did.

"Cal would know what to think to help them.." The demon muttered to themself, thinking allowed to keep themself calm. Ace paused when they heard a sniffle come from a room. The demon's head turned to the half closed door and slowly walked towards it. Someone was in the room upset and they didn't know how they would react.

Slowly Ace pushed the door open more, as the person let out a loud sob. They peeked their head in looking around the spare bedroom before their eyes landed on the bed. Someone was curled up and hidden under the blankets. Ace bit their lip to keep quiet before they slowly headed into the room. They moved closer to the bed before their eyes went wide as they recognized the voice of the crying person. Ace's heart broke in their chest as they recognized this was Cal crying. Ace didn't understand why they felt emotions so much stronger around Cal. They tried to ask about it but always got vague answers or a laugh, which confused the demon even more.

"Cal are you okay?" The demon asked and the sobbing stopped. The room grew quiet as Ace just stood there waiting. If Cal wanted to answer Ace would be there but if they didn't then they knew to leave the angel be. Ace was about to turn when the angel poked their head out of the blankets to look up at the demon before holding the blankets up. The demon moved quickly and crawled in next to them and wrapped their arms around the smaller angel. Cal held tightly onto Ace and sobbed into their chest. The angel normally didn't let anyone in when they were feeling like this but something about Ace broke that rule. Ace made them feel safe and calm, like they wouldn't judge them or make fun of them. The demon held them close for as long as they needed, through trust and learning Cal now learned showing the ugly emotions in front of Ace are okay and the demon offered support and cared.

The two remained in each other's arms for a while, neither knowing how long they laid there together. Cal moved their head back to find the demon asleep, or so they thought. This helped the angel speak. "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to stand you up. I didn't want to ruin our day together by crying..I thought I would just quickly cry it out but that didn't happen.. I just wanted- wanted," The angel's voice began to waver again before they let out a sigh. " I wanted to be nice and I made cookies for everyone.. And even if he is a jerk I didn't want to leave him out so I made some for Lucifer and.. And he went on and on about how much of a pain I was and how much I was costing him and h-how hard it is to keep up with me and how I was useless about everything other than giving him a headache.." The angel let out a soft sob of remembering how the demon yelled and how small and hated it made them feel. "I-I know he didn't mean to say it to me.. But it still hu-hurt! H-how could he not look and see it wasn't Mammon coming in? H-how could he just yell like that?! I-I don't-" Cal broke off as they began to softly cry again. The angel couldn't understand the elder brother's feelings.

Ace gave the angel a squeeze. "I never want you to feel like you're not good enough." The demon was awake and heard everything the angel said and their heart broke as Cal began to get emotional again. The angel let out a small gasp when they heard the demon's words, surprised they were awake and heard them. Cal rubbed their eyes before sitting up, Ace following in suit. "Thank you Ace.. It means a lot when you say that."

Appreciate having you.

Ace looked down at their arm and grinned. "Cal! My soulmate is better now!" The demon exclaimed, holding their arm up to show Cal and missed the Angel's smile falling before a fake one took its place. "That's great Ace I'm happy for you.."

It's not me..

Cal gasped when they saw the words shift on Ace's arm. "Th-those! Those are my thoughts!" Ace glance at their arm before looking at their best friend. "They are?"

"Yes Ace! I just thought that your soulmate wasn't me and it changed!" Cal's large smile returned, as their heart fluttered in their chest. Ace was their soulmate! The angel was overjoyed. They always liked Ace and had stronger emotions around them. They were just scared to ever look in case they were wrong. They didn't know what they would do if Ace's soulmate really was someone else.

The demon took a minute to process before it hit them. "Cal.. We're soulmates!" Ace shouted and Called laughed as they nodded their head. "Yeah we are." The angel answered as they leaned up and placed a small kiss on the demon's cheek.

Ace gasped as their cheeks went pink from the kiss. "You should check your arm." Ace said with a large smile as they watched the angel roll up their sleeve to reveal where Ace's words were before gasping.

I love you

"Look at your arm." Cal said and Ace glanced down and saw the same words looking up at them. The demon chuckled before pulling the angel into a hug, holding them close. "You mean everything to me, you will always be enough for me." The demon said before kissing the top of the angels head.

My favorite ship is JackPrase/Pimms these idiots I love them, thank you for letting me gush about a ship you don’t know about bksbksbk

when I started shipping it if I did: After I finished the webcomic and went on tumblr and found more about Kent and fell in love with him and then found the ship and its been my OTP ever since.

my thoughts: I love love love this ship. It is my happy ship and makes me really happy and I’ve had the most ideas and things about them, they are the ship that really got me into writing more ambitious things (those which are saved on my google drive). Its really cute and sweet and I love it. It also is a ship that hurts because its sad and I don’t like how its represented in canon but that’s another story and I just hardcore relate so bad with it and that makes me even more upset...

What makes me happy about them: DORKS! They are huge dorks and I love that. They are best friends that fell in love and I just *heart face emoji* I know the one bffs to bfs i have (well they technically have a rivals to lovers again with some of the fics so like best of both worlds bkss) just i love a lot and it would be too much to type and this is already long bsksb but really they are cute and i love it and they make me so happy cause really theyd be happy together and i just uwu

What makes me sad about them: How things are handled in canon and how idk if its as bad but people were very angry about this ship and liking Kent that people i followed got death threats and stuff like the fandom is crazy and that was a big no, but i don’t interact and only talk about them with my friend who i got into it and shipping them with me because how you not wanna ship these idiots. And now you and anyone else who sees this bksks but mostly canon and how kent holds on and still loves and its like ahh bb ;-;

things done in fanfic that annoys me: When post is a tag. Don’t give me that shit. I don’t want it. Im in the tag for them not for anyone else. It annoys me so bad.

things I look for in fanfic: Endgame, fluff, soulmate aus. I really read anything and all with these two thats them together and have done anyhing.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Kent-Swoops. This is a cute lil ship and I love it too but like pure JackPrase stan. Jack -  eeehh im bad but i don’t ship jack with anyone other than Kent, sorry.

My happily ever after for them: Getting their shit together and talking and coming together again. Like I just want a happy ending where Kent is in his sweathearts arms again smiling and happy. I just want Kent to be happy.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: Jack is big and Kent is little. I hc Kent as a cuddlewhore, he loves affection and like touch is his love lang. and will do anything to get into Jack’s arms and Jack is happy to provide and takes comfort in knowing Kent is there with him. Sometime they’ll switch it up, esp when anxiety flares.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Watch bad reality tv. Kent loves it and grew up on it, Jack never watched before Kent. Now on days just relaxing they will watch it. A lot of house reno shows. Mostly its something to wind down with and just cuddle on the couch together.  Also Jack loves putting snow down Kent’s jacket in the winter to fuck with him,because these two prank and tease each other a lot. So they have a lot of snow fights and tumbles in the winter everyone is like ew stop being so sweet and sickening you’ve been together forever you’re not teenagers anymore, once they get back together as adults

Hollyhock - Honestly just a quiet day maybe with a little rain outside, when it's cool enough to wear a hoodie indoors and blanket, curled up with someone watching a movie or playing games. I am a simple man I only require love and entertainment.

Lantanas - I don't know what the best is, but I had a teacher who said my eyes were too pretty to be filled with tears when I was having a panic attack in the hall way. In other words my eyes get complimented a lot and sometimes my hair, I've been compared to angels a lot so like I dunno people compliment me but I'm like haha really ew on the inside while blushing on the outside.

Rose - hehe I dunno if the other night was a precursor but the laughter/chuckle of the fictional boys va like 🥰🥰🥰 (most Luci and Fen they make my heart go doki doki and I melt) basically laughter but like its better when I'm crushing/in love

Sunflower - A lot of things haha but mostly my super close friends who can calm me down instantly (there's only 3 and they know who they are, and you are one of them (if you didn't know already))

Tulip - Small things I tend to feel bad when it's friends so I say little things or like dollar store candy don't go crazy please I will cry if you do, you don't need to waste money on me

Ace

Honey - Ace would cry if they lost something important. Complete break down. Sir Bearington is the closest thing they own and was one of a kind specially made. Ace would be in a large slump for a long time. Yes they could make it again but Ace made the bear in a rough time and Sir Bearington has been with them for a very long time and has helped them through everything. Nothing could replace him.

Cerulean - Cry again. Ace wouldn't understand what was going on and why everyone was frozen.

Peach - Ace would tamaki blush. Just "Wh-what? Y-you like me? I um uh I-I do too." They would stutter out as they looked down at them.

Chocolate - Ace would waste too much time. They'd probably be the one to that got sacraficed.

Pitch - Ace would give any and all, And I mean all, information they know.

Dakota

Honey - Dakota has already.. A lot of tears get shed and some days they still do. But that happened years ago so the boy is mostly over it.

Cerulean - Pranks, Pranks, pranks!! Dakota is a prankster he'd set some funny stuff up and then wait for it to go back to normal.

Peach - This has happened. Dakota blushed and had to politely decline but was flattered that the girl from highschool liked him that way but he didnt feel that way towards her.

Now he'd die on the inside and not be able to speak.

Chocolate - Dakota would save if he could his brother and sacrafice his parents if he could even of they aren't someone he holds as beloved.

Pitch - Dakota would annoy them and they'd let him go with 0 information.

Logan

Honey - Logan wouldn't know how to feel. They'd be sad and mad and hurt. She'd blame herself for losing it and would take a while to come to terms with it.

Cerulean - She'd try to figure out how to fix it, after enjoying the silence for a moment.

Peach - Logan doesn't believe him. She would just look at him confused. How could HE like her? She wasn't special or worthy. It would take him talking to her proving his love until she would accept and come to terms with her feelings. Cheeks dark red as she slowly relaxes into his embrace and gives in that she feel in love with a demon and that he loves her back.

Chocolate - Logan is very logical in her choice and selfish. Picking to save her lover and unfortunately giving up her first friend and more. It hurts yes but its what her life is now.

Pitch - Logan would glare them down, not afraid or them or the torture. They wouldn't give it up, not caring what their captors did to them.

While being a demon the Devildom is still a dangerous place. Ace knows this fact very well yet the demon can’t help but be drawn towards the sparkling lights and loud sounds of the fair.

A fair was a big new event for the denizens of the Devildom. Many booths of games, and food, rides all around them. Going out as a large group the residents of the House of Lamination and Purgatory  went in a large group before breaking off into pairs or small groups to explore the grounds. Simeon  and Solomon went with Luke to go play games. Beel, Belphie, Mammon and Dakota went to get food. Logan and Lucifer went off to do their own thing, while Satan, Levi, and Asmo went to check out the rides.

That left Ace and Cal alone. The pair began to walk along together, looking at different booths and rides as they passed. Ace even won a few stuffed animals for Cal when they stopped and pointed at a fluffy bear and then a small cat. The demon smiled as they won the games, and even more so when Cal jumped in excitement of getting the large prize and holding it to their chest.

‘It’s almost as big as them.. Cal’s so cute’ The tall demon thought to themself as they watched Cal.

The pair continued down the row looking at things starting to reach the more shopping part of the fair. Small knickknacks and clothing were being sold. Cal’s eyes widened as they ran over. Their bicolored eyes scanned over everything.

“Lets see I need seven, nine, eleven…” They began to count under their breath of how many items they would need to buy for their friends. They wanted to get something special for each of them, something that reminded Cal of them.

Ace followed Cal looking around a bit.

“Ace! Go look over there and see if you can find something you like!” The angel said looking up at the demon. They knew what they were getting for Ace but didn’t want the demon to be there to see it.

Ace chuckled as they nodded and went to look over at the t-shirts. This lasted for a moment before something shiny caught the demon’s eye. A wandering merchant going around the fair with a bag full of bracelets and other shiny jewelry.  Ace gasped when they saw a beautiful necklace hanging from the bag.

“Cal would love that. Something that pretty belongs to be worn by a beautiful angel.” They mutter to themself as they began to follow after the merchant.

Cal didn’t notice until after they finished paying for the presents. They turned to where Ace was last but couldn’t see them. They glanced around and didn’t see them anywhere. The angel began to panic, tears pricking at the corner of their eyes. They held the bag and stuffed bear close to their chest as they began to hurry to try and find Ace or anyone. While their mind was running with thoughts of where Ace could be and what could’ve happened to Ace.

Lost in thought they let out a small sound as they ran into someone’s back. A small sniffle left them as they looked up to see Lucifer and Logan turned around looking at them, the two moving apart from each other not standing as close when they noticed it was Cal.

“Sunshine what’s wrong?” Logan asked as she stepped closer to them, a frown on her face as their eyes scanned Cal over to check for what was worrying them.

“A-Ace they.. They..” Cal stuttered out as tears threatened to fall. They lost Ace. That was the thought that kept going through their mind, they lost them and let everyone down.

Logan frowned more and drew Cal in closer. “Hey it’s okay. We’ll find them. Ace probably just saw something. Where’d you see them last?” Logan asked as she glanced over at Lucifer. The raven haired demon nodded and left the angels as he began to hurry through to try and find the lost demon or anyone else to help look for them.

“The shopping.” Cal said through a sob as they held on tightly to Logan. 

The taller angel rubbed their back as they began to steer them back towards the shopping area. “I promise you Ace couldn’t have gone far. Maybe you just overlooked them. Demons do look a lot alike especially in a big coward. I know I got lost a few times already.” They said with a laugh as she looked down at the angel in their arms.

Cal nodded softly mostly hiding in Logan, their wings out now and drawn around them. 

Logan bit her lip as she turned ahead again to search for Ace. Looking for those pink eyes and bright smile out of everyone in front of them. They pulled Cal closer as the angels went by to keep them safer.

Once back at the shopping the two moved apart slightly to look around for the demon. Logan asking if anyone had seen Ace go by or where they went. They came up empty with answers, no one had seen the demon go by. The angels began to walk back down the path to see if they could find Ace on their own.

Ace had followed the merchant all the way to the other side of the grounds. They didn’t even realize how far they went. Ace only had one thing on their mind, get Cal the necklace.

Ace was walking back with the silver hummingbird in hand, looking down at it as the pink gem flower the hummingbird was holding onto twinkled in the lights. They weren’t paying attention until they heard their name being screamed at them and arms around them hugging them from behind.

“ACE!” Cal cried as they ran up behind Ace and wrapped their arms around them and pulled them close. Tears pricked at their eyes again but this time out of happiness. 

Ace was confused and looked back at the angel, quickly hiding the necklace in their hand.

“C-Cal what’s wrong? Did something happen? Logan? What are they doing here?” Ace asked confused as they glanced between Cal and Logan.

The taller angel smiled as she stepped back pulling out her D.D.D, giving Lucifer a call to tell him they found Ace and everything was okay.

Ace turned back to look at Cal as they moved back and frowned up at Ace.

“Stop wandering off! I keep thinking you’ve gotten abducted or something. I swear I’ll put you on a kiddie leash. Don’t tempt me.” Cal scolded them, frowning up at the tall demon with wet eyes. Their face and eyes starting to turn red.

Ace’s heart ached as they saw Cal had been crying. They were just trying to do something nice and didn’t realize how hurt Cal was by them wandering off.

“Cal I didn’t mean it. I was getting a present.. I wouldn’t get into trouble I promise. Please don’t cry! I’m here now!” Ace quickly said as they turned to pull them into a hug, pulling the angel as close as they could.

Cal easily returned the hug, hugging Ace tightly as they buried their face into Ace’s chest. They needed to hold him for a moment to make sure they weren’t going to be gone again soon.

Ace didn’t pull away, accepting the hug. They smiled as they held Cal close. A small blush creeping onto pale cheeks from the embrace and being able to hold Cal like this. Small things like being able to hold them or even just their hand made their heart flutter and feel all warm. 

Cal stepped back as they looked up at Ace. “You said you went to get a present?” The angel asked curious now about what Ace went off to get.

Ace’s blush darkened as they stood back. “Close your eyes.”

The demon waited as the angel did as told, trusting the demon. They then reached into their pocket and pulled out the necklace. They reached around and clipped the necklace onto Cal, brushing their hair out of the way. The demon’s hand brushing against their cheek as Ace stepped back.

“Okay look.” Ace said with a smile as they watched Cal.

Cal let out a gasp as they opened their eyes and saw the charm hanging in front of their chest. They reached down and picked up the charm turning it to look at it. A large smile formed on their lips as they looked it over before looking up at Ace. They threw their arms around the demon again.

“Thank you!  Thank you! Thank you! This is really special Ace, I love it!” Cal said happily as they glanced up at Ace.

The demon smiled as they hugged the angel back and listened to their words.

 “I saw it and thought of you. I’m sorry I didn’t say anything.”

“It’s okay. I’m just happy you aren’t hurt.”

While the two shared their moment Logan watched from afar and was soon rejoined by the eldest brother.

“Thank Diavolo they’re alright.” The demon muttered as he glanced Ace over.

Logan smiled as they turned to Lucifer, “Ace got Cal a necklace. They went off not realizing they were worrying Cal. Everything is okay now.”

Lucifer nodded before glancing back at the two, surely they had to know how hard they had fallen for each other.

“The fireworks are about to start. We should bring them back to where the others are.” Lucifer said, glancing back at his angel.

Logan nodded, walking away from him to the happy pair.  “Hey, Lucifer says the fireworks are about to start.”

“Fireworks!” Ace and Cal cried at the same time, both excited by it.

“Let’s go!” Cal giggled, grabbing Ace’s hand to pull them along.

Logan chuckled as they headed out, Cal waiting for her and Lucifer to take the lead and show them the way to where the others were.

Once back with everyone, commotion went about as the large group was reunited. Until they were silent when the first firework went off, lighting the dark sky in color. Everyone turned to the sky to watch the display.

Ace pulled Cal closer, wrapping an arm around their waist as they sat on a wall looking up at the sky cuddled up in each other's arms. Cal had a hand resting on the charm while the other was around Ace as well. The two smiling as Cal rested their head on Ace’s shoulder, looking up at the colors bursting in the sky.

The night ended after the long display of color. Sleepy demons, angels, and humans walked back towards their homes. Some pairing up while the others walked and joked in a large crowd.

Ace and Cal near the end, only Logan and Lucifer behind to ‘um make sure no one gets left behind’ was Logan’s reasoning. Neither questioned it as they were happy to be walking alone together, hand in in hand. When nearing the split path Cal pulled Ace with them towards purgatory. The demon smiled as they followed, swinging their hands.

The pair settled in, exhausted from the long but fun day they shared playing games, going on rides, Ace’s small scare, and the fireworks they watched together. All the time alone they had was nice and something they don’t often get. Now as they laid ready for sleep, smile were still on their lips from being in each other’s company and spending a great night together. The last thing on either of their minds was the other as they drifted off, cuddled up close.
