Making that oil slick hair at home. Needed a change and thought some color could be fun. Back on my fae shit 😂🖤
What specific fae powers (that are unique to them) do you think each Yellowjacket would have?
OOH okay lemme just do the main-ish cast but
Shauna: I think Shauna would maybe be able to do instant-kill curses if you'd give her your true name. Like you can trust her with it, but if she even has a hint of you betraying her or plotting something she'd snap back without hesitation (and then maybe regret it after)
Jackie: I like a compulsion/influence thing for Jackie. Being able to convince others of things. More a social power than something that could have direct effect, so it may not be as "valued" all the time
Lottie: Pretty easy in that she'd have foresight but probably not the clearest. Gonna add a true name bonus that gives her better focus on a specific thread of a person to follow
Natalie: Tricky! Maybe be able to get a handle on peoples true intentions. Not quite mindreading but moreso a vibe read or a morality radar. Doesn't swing good v evil but she could tell if people are outright lying, or would rather believe themselves to be something that they're not. Like Jackie, more a social power than something with direct results
Taissa: Actually would like some sort of possession thing for Tai. She can do basic mind tricks with everyone but with a true name outright possess them. Leans a lot on Other Tai being a thing in the show. I think Taissa would be opposed to it until it actually benefits herself.
Van: Pyrokinesiiiis. That would be her power but she has a well developed storytelling skill on the side because it's Van.
Misty: Maybe similar to Shauna, but less destructive. Misty would be able to cause minor illnesses and injuries that could stack into something serious BUT also be the one to take them away in a pinch
brain rot story time
questioning trans guy (placeholder name al, cmon it’s a classic) has repeatedly poked at the fairy ring behind his house. one day two fae actually show up! after the fae try to interrogate al (but they kinda suck so it just becomes banter) they ask for al’s name, and he doesn’t know what to do, so he hesitantly gives his birth name, alexandria. fae mark it down on a clipboard disappear, al goes to bed more unnerved by the fact that he hesitated with his birth name than the fact that he met fae.
(the fairy council has wanted humans. no one knows what for, it became a business and quickly died out, now a few dying companies focus on it while the world outside them is just...cottagecore i guess) (also the fae have lie detectors that are pretty accurate since they found it really annoying humans could just not tell the truth)
cut to the fae in an office building, one (irah) going “why the FUCK isn’t she here yet?? we got her name, did the rites, the council isn’t going to like this,” the other one, evara, goes, “maybe we didn’t get the right name... although i brought a lie detector and she seemed to be telling the truth” “you brought a lie detector? and she wasnt lying?” “yeah...seems like the main difficulty with humans and the wrong names comes from divorced people, nicknames, and trans people” “trans?” “yeah the humans have that weird categorization remember? the gender thing” “ugh the gender thing” “it’s probably that... they’re trans then” “why do humans have to do this” “who knows” “ok we want ‘alexandria’, although that name isn’t even fucking accurate apparently, you’re going to have to get them, evara. go down their and get their name” “huh. i have wanted to learn more about humans since they seem... competent. like us” “don’t be ridiculous evara just go. this is already a disaster”
so now evara and al have Shenanigans in at first evara only wanting al’s name and al wanting company that turns into Friendship and evara questioning the morality and purpose of the fae wanting humans and maybe they wreck the fae world in the process
oh and although al is called al for most of the story his name ends up being a noun like bread or smth
