AH YES, THE BOY
1. Do they have a nickname, and how or why did they get it?
Dale has nicknames from pretty much anyone he comes into contact to, actually.
His mother (and later his father, once they’re reunited) calls him “Sunshine”
Cameron calls him “Sugar”, which began ironically (just before they started feeling romantically about him) and now they think it’s fitting (seeing as he’s so sweet ;) )
Gerard calls him “Son” on occasion, just ‘cause.
Renaldo started out calling him “Beanstalk” on account of him being a farmer and Tall, and it sort of stuck.
Evelyn and Renee don’t so much have nicknames for him, Evelyn simply calls him by his name, and Renee calls him “honey” on occasion, but she does this with everyone.
3. Did they live in the same place their whole lives or did they move around a lot?
Well, from childhood up until 20 or so, Dale lived in his small home village. However, once his father contacted him, he left home, and has pretty much been living on his boot heels ever since.
11. Are they on a strict budget or are they impulse buyers?
Killing monsters tends to lead one into sizable stashes of loot, so there’s plenty of gold to go around, but with a six person party, one tends to be frugal. Dale himself heeds his mother’s advice and keep his pockets closed (unless of course he sees a little gift for one of his friends, in which case he’ll nab it).
15. Did they ever experience a major personalty shift, if so, what triggered it?
Dale’s personality shift couldn’t really be considered “sudden”. He has matured since he left his home. The world’s not just the village he grew up in and the fields that surrounded it anymore. It’s big and it’s frightening and it’s a little messed up sometimes but there’s a whole lot of great people in it and a whole lot of good things, too. Also there’s Hell, which certainly saddened the boy, but that happened to the whole crew, so I wouldn’t isolate that to just them. No one had a good time in Hell.
