Who is Faekah Husin?

“Who is she?”

This was Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali’s retort when asked on his predecessor’s special officer Faekah Husin’s claim that PKR de-facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was sacked from his position as Selangor economic adviser.

Faekah is Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim special officer as the Port Klang assemblyman.

“When I said that only the State Economic Office had been closed, I was referring to the minutes of the meeting held by state government Executive Council meeting on Sept 22, 2014 chaired by Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim not Faekah Husin,” he clarified, adding that the members of the media should ask her instead for clarification.

However, Azmin did not clarify whether Anwar still held the position or not.

Last month, Faekah who is also Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) chief executive officer announced that the state economic adviser’s office has been closed down to save costs.

She also thanked Anwar for his contribution and service as the state economic adviser.

Abdul Khalid sacks Anwar before leaving office

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22, 2014:

In his last act as Menteri Besar of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has closed down the State Economic Adviser’s office, a position held by Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In a press statement, Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) chief executive officer Faekah Husin said the office at Plaza Perangsang in Shah Alam was closed down to save costs.

She said economic matters could be handled by Selangor State Investment Centre (SSIC) that had the expertise to handle the administration, procedures and promotions.

Faekah thanked Anwar for his contribution and service as the Economic Adviser of Selangor.

“Since its inception, there had been many accusations about the salary that Anwar earned in that position as well as his role and contribution to the state.

“Therefore, we decided to close down the office so it did not conflict with the job of state officers that were tasked with handling the economic and investment duties of the state.”

PKR Youth chief, MB's political sec to get show cause letters

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2:

PKR will issue show cause letters to three of its members — Selangor Menteri Besar’s political secretary Faekah Husin, Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin and Batu Caves assemblyman Amiruddin Shari.

PKR’s Disciplinary Board chairman Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong said that this was because of a public spat over Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim that the trio were embroiled in.

In the past few days, Faekah, Amiruddin and Shamsul Iskandar have been releasing several press statements revolving around Abdul Khalid’s tenure as Menteri Besar.

Shamsul Iskandar had recently claimed that a consensus existed within Pakatan Rakyat to replace the beleaguered Menteri Besar and called for Abdul Khalid to step down after losing the Kuala Selangor PKR division chief post to former Kapar Member of Parliament S. Manickavasagam in the recent party election.

Amiruddin, meanwhile, in a commentary, threw his support behind Shamsul Iskandar, adding that the latter made the right call and was in line with the principle of shouldering political responsibility.

He said Abdul Khalid must realise that his position as Selangor Menteri Besar was decided by PKR and Pakatan leadership.

Amiruddin went on to say that Abdul Khalid’s recent statement to not relinquish his position also created a negative impression among the public that his position was sovereign in nature and decided by him alone.

Faekah, in a statement yesterday, took a swipe at Shamsul Iskandar for making such calls, pointing out that both Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail did not hold any position at the divisional level.

She questioned if it was fair that their credibility in leading the party was doubted simply because they lack divisional level position.

Faekah said Shamsul Iskandar’s repeated statements on the matter had only served to rupture the unity in Pakatan and portrayed PKR in a bad light to the public.
