@fae-kissed, continued from here to trim the ask part properly
Groaning as she sits up, Lena immediately regrets not getting home earlier. It had been the birthday party of one of Sumi's friends- and they had generously stocked their bar. It had taken little time for everyone to lose themselves, and most of Lena's memory was a blur. Dancing, drinking, kissing someone she hoped was Sumi, more drinking, laughing about something, flashes of sensation and then.... nothing. Frankly she wasn't even sure how they'd gotten home.
Reaching up to rub her aching neck, something is immediately off. What was it.... Oh. Panicking she places both hands on her neck, searching for any sign of the slight bumps and ridges of her concealed gills. Nothing.
Turning to Sumi in panic, she would finally find those telltale signs... just not on the person they should be on.
"I have to stop fucking drinking."
Yawning lazily as she stirs from her slumber, fluttering eyes look to Lena, trying to find meaning in the slurry of sound coming through her waking mind. "It wasn't. . ." Yawn. ". . .that bad."
"We got home, had a good time. . ." Slept well, too. She was dreaming of swimming in the sea, and diving down under the water. She doesn't know what that was about, but it was nice, at least.
"Actually. . ." But, now as her vision fills out with the image of Lena, beautiful as always, Sumi notices, reaching a hand out to hold the side of her neck. "You look. . . weird. Something's missing."
You're going to have to tell her, Lena. Until she looks in a mirror, she probably won't even realize what happened; the gills of her neck, the sharpness of her teeth, or the changes to the rest of her body.
