At 11:59pm, the Council Head gathered everyone outside to bring in the New Year with a surprise. At their direction, a group of fae began to make it lightly snow, as some witches gave a display of fireworks from their fingertips. Midnight struck, and the Council Head stepped forward to make a speech.
The snow began to fall harder, faster. The fae tried to control it and found that they couldn’t. A scream echoed through the courtyard as, through the blanket of white, a b o d y fell in front of the Council Head, motionless, and quickly covered in snow. But there were a few in the audience that would recognize her: Anne Thompson, FBI.
Quickly, the Council Head herded everyone back inside the Hyacinth. The police were called, but as the blizzard grew more hazardous, it would take them a while to get there. The doors were locked, and everyone told to stay inside until the police came and the blizzard stopped, whichever came first.
