When Nash had shown up to the party late, she had expected to be able to avoid all of the drama that it could entail. The plan was to show up just for midnight, talk to enough people that it seemed like she had been invested, and leave immediately. She hadn’t been expecting to be held at the party with a promise of a long day of work after.
Nash had seen the body hit the ground, her mind disassociated from her panic and the panic around her and switched into work mode. It was just a body, she had seen more than she could count. Yes. There was something no right about the whole thing but that was something she’d have to accept and let someone more qualified deal with. She would have her closure about the situation when she could close a coffin on it.
For now she was focused on how long they had been stuck in this room. Her phone had died and she hadn’t thought about wearing a watch. She stopped someone as they passed her, “Do you know what time it is? This storm can’t go on forever right?”
