Failing to Stop for Police – Serious Consequences
Under Section 216(2) of the Highway Traffic Act, drivers are legally required to stop when signaled by a police officer. Failing to do so can lead to fines ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, up to six months in jail, and seven demerit points on your record.
