i actually wrote a headcanon about this. lily would forgive him, probably in time she would maybe give him a second change, but at the start, rebuilding their friendship would be out of the question.

                            EVERYONE HAD THEIR OWN OPINIONS. That had always been Cedrics point of view. He wouldn’t be the one to try & demand people to believe in anything other than what they truly felt was real & right to them. If they changed their believes due to a change of heart, personal experience or simply because what they believed in was proven to be WRONG, that was fine with Cedric. But he never forced his own believes on anyone else or tried to change peoples minds, when it was obvious that there own believes were fundamental & well-considered. & then there was MALFOY. Draco Malfoy, who only believed in his own agenda & his own reasoning - At least that was, what his facade showed to the rest of the world. The pureblood wizards statement was referring to the badge, he had pinned to the front of his emerald slytherin uniform & which Cedrics finger was pointing at. Supporting one of the Hogwarts champions was one thing - Of course Cedric was GRATEFUL for any kind of support he got from the crowds of students & it didn’t really made any difference to him, what house the other students were in. He personally never believed in the rumor about Slytherin, brining out bad wizards. Some of them might have chosen the WRONG PATH to follow, but Cedric was sure that this was due to their believes & their attitude & mindset & had nothing to do with them, being in the house of the serpent. But this went too far. He always tried to calm down students, who were insulting Harry, whenever he got a wiff of unfairness, calling the boy who lived a cheater, a liar. The enchanted badges made the whole thing even worse & even though it was probably a waste of effort, the Hufflepuff champion had decited to at least try & talk some sense into Draco. “Listen, I’m really thankful if you wanna support me. I mean that. But if you actually do want Hogwarts to win the tournament, be for me because I am you’re favorite champion - & not because Harry is your LEAST favourite, ok?”

the fault for not bothering to reach out to draco lies on the shoulders of every adult in hogwarts , but dumbledore at least in this situation saved his life

You’re absolutely right. Of course, you know Draco much better than I do. But I thought perhaps considering that Dumbledore knew that wouldn’t work, given Harrys’ experience in his fifth year, he would have known that wouldn’t have worked either way.. Every single adult failed Draco in the most heinous way possible.

‘  YOU  WANTED  TO  TALK  TO  ME  ?  ’  came  remus’  tired  voice  as  he  sat  next  to  the  blonde  young  man  .  hitching  his  trousers  slightly  ,  remus  sat  on  the  steps  &&  rolled  up  the  sleeves  of  his  cardigan  ,  clearing  his  throat  as  he  did  so  .  CASTING   brown  eyes  looking  out  engaging  at  the  wild  forest  that  spread  around  the  grounds  for  what  remus  could  see  was  miles  .  lips  pursed  ,  he  was  unsure  why  draco  would  ask  to  speak  to  him  ,  from  the  time  he  had  taught  at  hogwarts  ,  it  always  STRUCK  him  that  draco  didn’t  really  care  much  for  his  opinion  (  nor  did  he  seem  to  be  sympathetic  to  remus’  lycanthropy  )  so  it  had  come  as  quite  a  SHOCK  to  the  system  .  

clearing  his  throat  ,  remus  folded  his  arms  on  top  of  his  knees  ,  resting  them  there  as  he  looked  out  .  the  expression  on  the  other  mans  face  one  of  slight  concern  .  ‘  what’s  WRONG  ?  ’  he  asked  kindly  .

your lily is SO so so nice !! it's really wonderful how much love and thought you put into your portrayal and everything she says / does is easy to visualize and seems perfectly in place for both what canon gave us re: her personality and background as well as all the things you've written and expanded upon for her. you're a real treasure to have around and i look forward to seeing how you continue to expand upon lily's character !
