wow, failtopia season 1 is 7 years old now!

to celebrate, i'm taking a bunch of doodles/text posts/general things and putting them into a nice little post!

here are some doodles i've done in my notebooks and planner

some little notes about some of these:

the sixth one is from that one scene where failboat asks chat who their favorite is. i like to imagine they just say every character's name at once.

sooo about the eighth one: i've always associated rose and pirahnyawn with cicada days... just feels very them to me. (also my dnd oc meglan is there too. idk why.)

the twelth one is an in the foreground reference because i've been reading it recently (took a little break from reading it though, i'm like 42-ish chapters in)

on friday i was rly sick and i was thinking about bo taking care of a sick erica and it made me feel a little bit better so i drew a lil sketch

sometimes i like to imagine deko accidentally become chi and lanc's wingman. i just love the s1 neksdor kids and their interactions. here's the base image.

i was reading in the background and a certain scene from chapter 10 made me start giggling so hard and then this appeared on my canvas.

Another funny moment I thought of from one of your last posts, but Orion just gifting someone in the team a whole new CAR ( it was Friend, I think?) to make up for giving Shrimp a brick before. So much for being a straight man for the team, I guess.

Orion's ongoing arc of desperately trying to give a decent present to someone is very underrated, it's one of the best examples of him very much not being the straightman of the team (who is the straightman pretty much depends on who's in the scene, but I think it's most often Shrimp). He's not even the only one to do this, Erica gives Chat an entire car as well, even if they don't get the keys and it's just to lock them inside. One has to wonder where either of these cars are kept, are they in the stable with Void?

While they might not technically be a major part of the team, any headcanons for the Incident's horse Void? Like their relationships with the other cast members?

Void being invisible means he's always watching from the background, and although he can't verbally communicate anything, he knows very well what goes on in the team, since everyone talks to him in the stable. He usually lets them sort themselves out, but he'll try to communicate with them where he can, if he feels like it, since his eyes and hooves are still visible.

The stable is treated as a quiet getaway place, a lot of the time, so a lot of The Incident's members have a habit of venting their problems to Void. Everyone works under the assumption that Void can only vaguely understand what they're saying, but he gets a lot more of it than they think. He's a fairly wise horse, but he is still a horse, so it's not like he provides great wisdom, he just lets these traumatised people take care of him and sleep in his stable until they feel better.

Void is especially close with Erica and Orion, since they can almost see him through their glasses (or, in Orion's case, red lens makeup), even if it's only his movements they can see, rather than the actual body. Erica finds it easier to connect with animals than people, because people have actual thoughts about things and annoy her way too much, and Orion was well-versed in horses back in his royal guard days, he taught a lot of The Incident how to actually take care of him. Mar is another trusted companion, the amount of stuff they've been through together has given them a camaraderie best compared to Mario and Yoshi. As for the rest of the team: Chi teaches him a lot of fun tricks once she figures out how. Chat takes him for a wild ride almost every time they're in the stable. Bo's similar to Erica, she trusts him more than most regular people. Friend is only behind Orion in responsibly taking care of him. Shrimp and Bill are the best at recognising his sentience. Failboat can also see Void, through his glasses, but he doesn't realise it, he usually spends his time in the stable joking around with him.
