I really can't believe the extent to which they discriminated against this beautiful woman! And her daughter????!!!!
My experiences are nowhere as bad because I was 'lucky' to be born with 'Indian fair privilege'...However, every summer as I tan, my mother laments about how I should stay out of the sun and put on sunscreen more often (no matter how many times I explain sunscreen only prevents UV rays, but not tanning!). I'm just so sick of explaining that I don't care about my changing skin colour, in fact my tanned skin makes my legs look nicer in skirts. The only thing I have to worry about is changing foundations. Instead I say, "Give it a few months after summer ends, I'll lighten up again."
