Due to their immense size, macrovalutes probably need far more space and resources than any modern animal. Does this mean there are less of them than, say, there would be of comparable gub settlements?

Indeed, there is a much smaller number of macrovolutes than of the average gub (vertebrate) species! However, human (firegub) population sizes are also not extraordinarily large.

- I do kinda wish we’d gotten to see more of Lancer! I guess it’s not possible with this new rule of Darkners not being able to be active outside of their own lands, and there’s always plenty of new characters to meet and interact with, but it did seem like Lancer’s friendship with Susie was a big part of helping her start connecting with other people, so it’s a shame that didn’t get expanded upon a little more. Maybe that’ll change in other chapters though, you never know!
