Hikari squirmed under his touch, which only made him tighten his grip on her arm. Her eyes had already grown bored of looking at her injuries. She didn’t feel them yet, despite having fallen a considerable distance when the rock face she had been collapsed, thanks to the adrenaline still pumping through her. Her mouth still tasted dirt and grit. Hikari’s attention turned skyward again. The sound of battle overwhelmed nearly everything else.

“They need us,” she said stubbornly. “We have to get back.”

This was a stupid idea, right? This was definitely a stupid idea.

Yu had made the trip all the way to Nakano, but now that he was actually standing at the doorstep of the famous Kuremi Detective Agency, he couldn’t help getting cold feet. Even if this place was supposed to take all sorts of cases, there’s no way they’d help him with anything so trivial. It couldn’t even be called a ‘case.’ Not to mention, the problem was kind of...his fault in a way...

Anyone else wanting to get into the Agency would have a hard time now, with him standing in front of the doors and wringing his hands indecisively.
