I LOVE your fairytale spells, such a cool idea, and weirdly enough it makes it easier for me to connect to the idea of spellcasting which I've been having trouble with, so thank you 😊 ✨
I'm so glad to hear that you're enjoying them! The Sisters Grimmoire has been gaining in popularity lately. Which is encouraging, since I've been working on a second volume of fairytale-inspired spells for about three years now.
We all come to the craft in different ways and magic means different things to different people. To me, it's always held a strong element of fantasy, but one that is still practical, with rules and mechanics that are easier to intuit that they are to explain.
Fairy tales and folklore have a unique magic all their own. There's something intrinsically fascinating about stories that take place in a world that's clearly our own, but also NOT our own, where actions and reactions, consequence and reward, are decided by a set of rules that is never quite explained but is understood just the same. Reading these stories takes me back to the summer afternoons when I'd spend hours wandering what passed for woodlands in the suburban town where I grew up, believing with all my tiny heart that if I looked close enough, at just the right time, I'd catch a glimpse of something fantastic.
I never did, but I've never stopped looking either.
Thanks for reading and I hope the spells serve you well!
