Ryan’s relations with the other members of the crew has greatly improved from where it was during the first few years of joining. Compared to being as closed off as he was, he’s more friendly & willing to joke around. It’s even a surprise that he talks as much as he does because during the beginning he barely said much. They were lucky to get a confirmation ‘grunt’ to any questions.
He was of course the one to grow closest to Ray before his disappearance which did close him off again for some time.
He typically avoided Gavin for quite some time because he found him annoying & even then the Lad had a habit of avoiding him as well out of fear. To say the least, he found it humorous. When Gavin started to grow on him with his questions ( & after Geoff tasked him with gun training ) he found he didn’t dislike him as much as he did in the beginning. Often or not, Ryan will do things just to get a laugh out of Gavin, even going out of his way to run over motorcyclists for shits & giggles.
Michael was easier to get along with since they both were chaotic in nature. It was enjoyable to have someone around who wouldn’t shy away from carnage & blowing shit up when it came down to it. Even if the younger man yelled a lot, it didn’t bother him in the slightest. Hearing Michael flip out was sometimes a highlight which could get Ryan to laugh ( much to some of their surprise considering how quiet he normally was. ) Ryan & Michael understand each other on some levels which is why he was easy to befriend.
For a long while, Ryan held Geoff in one regard: his paycheck. His only reason for keeping him alive was so that he got paid. At the time, the Vagabond was only interested in money than actually staying in a crew. The ever ‘lone-wolf’ had a change of heart with how Geoff treated him. Any paranoia or distrust was never shown, Geoff seemed to fully trust Ryan from the very beginning which he would’ve exploited if it wasn’t for how the boss was. It was something he had to get used to, being wanted around, talked to like a human: even his concerns took priority which was one way to shell shock Ryan. This morphed his behavior towards Geoff that showed a large amount of admiration & loyalty. He enjoys his company the most.
Jack was a weird case for Ryan because he wasn’t sure where to stand when it came to her. She was Geoff’s second in command & there were times where Ryan wanted to challenge it. He was raised with a mindset to treat women right due to his mom but wasn’t the one to see them involved with this kind of life. Sure, he has on several occasions slaughtered men to save women & children, but it was still somewhat uncomfortable to deal with a woman in charge. Not just because he was his own boss for a long while but because he almost doubted her capabilities. It wasn’t until she managed to hold her own in an outnumbered fight & drive their asses away from danger without breaking a sweat that changed his mind. He, of course, can’t help admiring her not only for her finesse but also her looks which makes him grateful to wear a mask so that she can’t see his blush every now & again.
Lastly comes Jeremy who probably has the roughest relationship with Ryan. Even though they are still trying to work it out, he is still holding a grudge & cant shake the resentment he has. Jeremy is not to blame of course & this is purely because of Geoff’s actions to ‘replace’ Ray with him after his ‘disappearance’. Ryan can’t deny that Jeremy has skills & is a great asset to the crew but it’s still off putting to deal with him. For a while they actually didn’t talk to each other or would be at their throats because Ryan was unwilling to move on. It took a lot of time for this behavior to stop yet even then he’s still exhibits moments where it feels like nothing has changed. If it wasn’t for Jeremy refusing to leave his side after being injured & not kicking a dog while he was down, their petty one-sided fight might’ve continued on. The Lad grew on him like mold just like the others which is why they’re battle buddies now.
