Kestrel's ears almost perk up like a dog that heard the word 'treat' and he looks back and forth between the muffins and you. It's such a sweet gesture that he's never been exposed to and he's stunned for a moment before flashing you a bright smile, his eyes twinkling with excitement as he tells you the title of his favorite holo. Just be warned, it's heavy drama and he absolutely will yell and scold the characters like they can actually hear him when they say or do something dumb.

When the Empire is more established and the number of clone troopers in active service start to dwindle it's obvious that they don't intend to take care of their veterans as they toss them out like broken toys. Peregrine is quick to spit on that bullshit and finds work as a mercenary and bounty hunter out of necessity. He grows his hair and beard out like he always wanted to but couldn't since it was against regulations. By the time he meets his brothers again in the ranks of the rebellion, Gyrr laughs at how wildly different he looks. He's grown his hair out almost down to his waist and his beard is in a neat braid to match his hair.

The moment he sees his General alive, he breaks down in tears and begs for his forgiveness. Aries kneels down in front of him and gives him a soft keldabe kiss, telling him that he wasn't at fault. Peregrine puts his head on the Jedi's shoulder as he continues to cry and let out all the regret and guilt he carried for all those years.

When he calms down, Gyrr asks him if he wants to fly together as Falco Squad once again. Kestrel and Merlin are honored with the birds they paint on their fighter jets.

Kestrel is highly insecure about his sexuality, he's got hundreds of thousands of brothers and none of them that he's met have shared his interest in the same gender. He jokes and lies about being attracted to women, simply out of fear of being the odd one out and ostracized.

When Gyrr confides in his batchmates at one point and confesses that he thinks he's attracted to their (male) General, Kestrel is shocked for a second. Then it dawns on him that he's not as alone in this like he thought. He becomes Gyrr's nr. 1 shoulder to cry on and talk about this with, reassuring Gyrr that he isn't silly for having these feelings.

From that point on, he feels more confident in himself and more comfortable in his own skin.

Treat Kestrel like a human being instead of a number or a weapon and (with your consent) he'll wrap his arms around you and keep you safe like he's your shield made of Beskar.

Gyrr doesn't keep in touch with most of his brothers more than his position of Commander demands him to do, he's a busy man and doesn't spare the time to even take care of himself.

That's where his batchmates come in.

Kestrel, Peregrine and Merlin stick to him like glue. They're the reason Gyrr isn't passing out from exhaustion since they will quite literally tackle him into a cuddle pile and keep him trapped until he sleeps.

Kestrel is the cocky, jocky troublemaker, pretends to be drowning in women when in reality he's barely even had a real conversation with one. He isn't even into women. He's just trying to show off.

Merlin is the sweetheart of the group, though Kestrel's mischievous nature unfortunately rubs off on him and he gets pulled into pranks easily. Kestrel got him to dye his hair blonde, and then Merlin got Gyrr to match him.

Peregrine would have long hair if it wasn't against those darn regulations. Grunge stoner uncle vibes. Always has a variety of conspiracy theories to talk about.
