What do you think about the Luigino Q-6 and the Pilot Falcon or Falcon plus plates? I have been bouting for three years and have been in Vanilla Curves with Sure-Grip Probe plates for two years. I like my set up and have had no real problem with it at all, but this Luigino set up seems very impressive. I am about 5'3" and 180 pounds. My feet are kind of wide and I love skating barefoot. What do you think about me going with this new boot and plate?
They are still fairly new plates and boots, but they sound like something that would work well with you. The Luigino Q-4 and Q-6 work better with wider feet, but so far reviews do say they are still a bit on the narrow side. If you have the opportunity to try on a pair to get a feel for their width, I’d definitely recommend that. If not, try contacting them with foot width measurements to see what sort of response you get.
Of the two plates, I do recommend the Falcon Plus. Once again they are new so there isn’t a whole lot of knowledge on how long they will last, but they have proved to be fairly impressive plates so far.
If you love skating barefoot and have wide feet, Bonts are another option for you that you might also like. You can get them sized to fit your feet perfectly and they usually fit so well that often skaters skip the socks altogether.
