LU ISSUE PARKING FEES FOR EMPLOYEES!
Beginning August 22, a number of changes will impact parking for the upcoming year.
1. The North and Main Campuses will be consolidated into a single campus called the Liberty Campus.
2. All Green Hall (formerly Campus North) parking will be between the LaHaye Centers and Williams Stadium where new parking is currently being constructed. Liberty University will no longer regularly use the parking spaces around the TRBC Worship center.
3. Parking lot names have changed and reflect the names of major benefactors to the university. Please refer to the updated parking maps that are accessible from the LUPD website for these changes. Signage reflecting these changes will be installed by August 16.
4. All vehicles will require a valid permit to be on the campus. Visitor permits will be available at the Hancock Welcome Center (DeMoss Hall Visitor Center until October) and the Green Hall Main Entrance. Parking spaces/areas identified for the LU Bookstore, LaHaye Ice Center, Human Resources, and Health Services will continue to be used for those patrons and a parking pass will not be necessary.
5. All parking areas will be arranged into zones that will have specific permits and costs associated with each. In general, parking costs decrease the farther away from DeMoss Hall (DeMoss Commons) the parking area is. Permit holders of one zone cannot park in a different zone, but instead must use the overflow parking area at Doc’s Diner at East Campus (refer to Daily Parking Map):
a. Zone 1 (Red permit color): Parking areas within a 10 minute walking distance to the DeMoss Commons. Annual cost is $300 for commuter students and $150 for employees. b. Zone 2 (Purple permit color): Parking areas within a 20 minute walking distance to DeMoss Commons. Annual cost is $200 for commuter students and $50 for employees. Bus service to DeMoss Commons available from the Tilley Center bus stop. c. Reserved (Dark Blue permit color): Parking areas reserved for groups/departments specific to certain buildings that are not open to general parking. Annual cost is $300 for students and $150 for employees. Faculty parking areas will be assessed a $50 annual fee for faculty. d. Alternative (Turquoise permit color): On and off campus lower-priority parking areas that utilize the transportation system. Cost is $0 for commuters and employees (see Low Cost Options Parking and Transportation options below). These includes near campus areas not adjacent to the Liberty Campus such as the Airport Campus, Mayflower Maintenance Facility, and LU Residential Annex.
6. Employee parking charges will be assessed via pre-tax payroll deduction around the end of October. Employees who are required to operate personal vehicles and have been issued an Official (green) permit for work will not be assessed a parking fee.
7. Parking regulations for LU Annex residents will be the same as all other residential areas. LU Annex residents will be able to park in unmarked commuter/employee and other residential areas after 5 PM on weekdays and all day weekends through 2 AM Monday. The carpool program will no longer apply to the LU Residential Annex. Parking rates will be adjusted to be consistent with evening/weekend parking on the Liberty Campus.
8. Online parking registration is open now at the LUPD homepage (www.liberty.edu/lupd). All registrations must be filled out online and a printed copy of the completed form, drivers license, and vehicle registration must be present at the time you pick up your permit. Permits will be available for pick up at DeMoss Back Hallway from Aug 15 – Aug 19 and at the Tolsma Indoor Track at Green Hall from Aug 15 – Sep 2.
