Politics are currently at play here. Due to the recent greencough epidemic in Thunderclan, the Sunningrocks is currently under their territory and Crookedstar had temporarily ceased in scenting them for now

Well, now that Thunderclan is recovering, the border skirmishes are going to continue soon enough. Times of peace are a death sentence for the clans, you can't mock battle badgers and foxes and coyotes here. The new apprentices need the battle strategies and experience

The Floweringfields are currently being scented to the best of Shadowclan's ability as they're in need of herbs, Many Herbs.

Reports say their warriors have a lot of injuries lately, having been fighting rogues by their own borders

I woke up in a cold sweat with a realization.

Tiger and Golden adopted Fire. Tiger and Golden also had two kits making them siblings to Fire. One of those kits is Bramble. If the theories are correct and Fire ends up adopting Squirrel, that would make Bramble And Squirrel uncle and niece. Dullard has confirmed that Squirrel and Bramble would be mates.

I either need to completely revise my theory of Fire adopting Squirrel, realize the clan cats don't care as long as it isn't blood, or just take it in stride while mentally chanting to myself "At least it isn't the Family Tumbleweed like canon, atleast it isn't the Family Tumbleweed like canon, atleast--"

I have been coy about it, since I wanted y'all to have fun theorizing, but I should say now that Squirrel and Bramble will be mates, and Firestar is not adopting Squirrel. There's no familial relationship here, Firestar's just good with kids and being friends.

Ok-- so. Scourge sure as hell looks dead as shit and FIRESTAR being the one to do in while in the throws of PTSD???!!?! Scourge, you didn't just pick a tiny sad boy to try and kill, you picked a traumatized tiny sad boy to try and kill. And failed. Because despite everything Firestar is STILL a clan cat who while not good at fighting, still had everything drilled into his head by his mentors and father

(oh my God, was that move he used the advice from Tigerclaw???? Crying. Absolutely crying.)

The biggest question is: HOW ARE THERE STILL 19 CHAPTERS?!?! Is this gonna be 19 chaps of guilt? Because I'm all for that but low-key doubt it.

God, amazing job on this, I love it so much. Firestar hoped only one cat died. Firestar hoped he wouldn't have to kill anyone. Only one wish got granted.

I am so curious how you all will take the rest of this book.

What I will say now is that this death was meant to happen later into the story, but we had so much more shit to write about that it ended up at the halfway point of a much longer book. We got a lot to cover, and I hope you'll like it!

God, it would be so interesting to see an outside pov. Obviously it couldn't be in the fic itself because it's purely Firestar pov and another pov might undermine the isolation factor but like-- I would love to hear individual's thoughts on Firestar right now.

We won't be seeing an outside POV, you are correct, but hopefully within these next few chapters, I can make it clear what everyone else is thinking.

This is really making me want a metaphysical pov of the Three. I just think it would be so funny to see their general thoughts regarding this. Also I find it really funny when dieties that are shown as powerful and seperated are cut to being mortal as hell

I can't think of a time in the future where I'll want to write from their perspectives, simply because they're gods and are meant to be at least a little unknowable. Rokhar especially.

Now, their underlings, that's a different story.
