Aera's house was a mess. And it was driving her crazy. Nesting had gone into overdrive. She had ordered custom wallpaper, a ton of furniture (some of which she'd be returning once she had the correct ones for the aesthetic), a ton of cleaning she needed to do because of the elevator install, and the start of the boxes that had already been brought over from Drew's house. She had been trying not to let her feelings show too much - she knew that it was a huge change having them move in, and there were sure to be growing pains. "Okay, I think that if we move these boxes into what will be Drew's room for now, we should be able to fit what we still need to bring over from your place," Aera said, looking around the room, "and also, they gave me a envelope with the baby's gender at the end of the appointment, so I wasn't sure if you wanted to open it now and see or wait."

Changes

Being at home, I’m never alone.

My town is always timeless;

I can even drive the streets mindless.

It’s autumn, I can’t stay to drive these streets, instead I’ve flown

To enter a new world, dimeless and alone.

But I wasn’t alone for long.

I met this mysterious boy through a game of water pong.

You met me when I was stagnant.

You’ve attracted me like a magnet.

Now those days have come and gone,

You’ve sparked a change to act upon.

I’ve opened my sense,

climbed over fences;

which I built to cage myself.

But

I broke free,

left you a little piece of me,

And returned home for the winter.

If you listen to Bergson’s CDs such as Fall Changes and Imitate the Sun, it’s obvious that he learned his lessons from the masters well – both those he heard on vinyl and those he had the privilege to know and play alongside. But you also hear a musician with the fire and intelligence to chart his own path and resist being classified as any one particular genre. That independence and drive has made him the beloved leader of a band that has played regularly at venues including Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble and New York City clubs from Jazz Standard to the Rodeo Bar.
