Because the types of Fall jackets are endless, I picked some of my favorites to feature in this Keep collection. And thanks to great stores like Topshop and ASOS, you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to look chic and stay warm this Fall (but if you want, I can offer you this $3,000 Chloe cape that’s totally worth every penny).
Hands down my all time favorite kind of jacket is a leather jacket. You can go colored, quilted, faux or classic…this piece of outerwear is a wardrobe staple and gives you an immediate cool factor. If an all leather piece is too much to handle (although I personally think you can never have too much leather), try something with leather sleeves. Plus, wearing something with more than one texture gives your outfit more depth (meaning it looks like you put a lot of effort into it when really you just put on a really awesome jacket).
For those crisp sunny days where you barely need a jacket but it’s probably a good idea to put one on anyway, a trench or military jacket are a good route to take. The trench is much more classic so it’s something that truly will never go out of style. The “military trend” seems to come more than go so you’ll never feel “so last season” in this type of jacket.
If you’re looking for a more casual and cool option, bombers and varsity jackets have been all the rage. Going oversized is another great option because it’s not only on trend for Fall, but it allows you to eat as much pumpkin pie and Halloween candy as your little heart desires. But if you’re looking to keep it classy, a cape or tailored jacket is an absolute must.
